Grandes Jorasses via Colton Macintyre/ExtremeDream - Climb and Fly . Short-trip to Chamonix, chasing the good conditions in the northfaces. Having perfect wind on the summit enabled us to be back at the car 20min after topping out. 🏔️🤝🏻😍 . . . #alpinism #iceclimbing #northface #grandesjorasses #coltonmacintyre #climbandfly #paraglidinggirls #extremedream #mountains #mountainlove #chamonix #pocolococlosed #hungrytimes #puremountain #noplacetoofar #julbo #julboathlete #lekitrailrunning

Peuterey Integral – the longest climb in the Alps and a dream we've carried for years. Finally, everything aligned: good weather, solid prep from other big routes, and a window early in our Chamonix trip. Tuesday night: Flixbus to Courmayeur, then hiked up to the beautiful Borelli bivouac. Next morning: Climbed the beautiful Noire Southridge and bivied on the summit in a storm – classic mistake bringing a 1-person bivy sack for 2. So much for romance. Slept in the next day, dried our gear in the sun, then rappelled the Noire in 100 km/h gusts (not fun). Continued through the sketchy, chossy Dames Anglaises to the Craveri bivy for a quick break. Then climbed through the chaotic labyrinth below the Blanche and found a sheltered bivy spot just before it got too windexposed again. Opted to stay for some real sleep, knowing day 3 would be long. Final day: some rock, then stunning snow ridges to the Aiguille Blanche, rappelled north to the Col de Peuterey, then up the Eccles couloir in some fun ice pitches to Grand Pilier d’Angle. From there, just 500m of 60° snow/ice to Mont Blanc. Summit, high-fives, and then full send back to the valley for Poco Loco. Surprisingly more joy than suffering – not bad at all. Still, too objectively serious to make a habit out of these kinds out routes. #peutereyintegral #aignoiredepeuterey #alpinism #rockclimbing #tiredbuthappy #noplacetoofar #scarpa #julbo #julboathlete #thenorthface #evrst

Back on the Dru North Face, one month after we bailed, we came back for a second try. This time it worked. With half the world in Chamonix right now, we were hoping for a bit of solitude, and actually found it, no one else on the route. Not too much to say, just really stoked on the style, first lift to Grands Montets, fly in, climb as far as we feel like, bivy, then finish it the next day. After the second crux, we traversed into the North Couloir, and still had to properly fight for two more pitches before reaching the calf crushing icefields leading to the brèche. Rapped the North Couloir and flew heavy packs back down, straight to burgers in the valley. One of the most beautiful routes we’ve climbed here so far, perfectly protectable and full of sustained hard drytooling. Good times. Ever since my very first ski mountaineering tour a few years ago on Piz Palü, the Bumillerpfeiler had quietly been sitting on my to do list. Over time it got pushed aside by bigger objectives and slowly slipped out of my mind. But when Moritz and his team reported perfect conditions it did not take long to decide to go check it out. Long story short it might be the best tour I have done in the Eastern Alps and honestly it does not have to hide behind the classics in Chamonix. Cruising up with the lift at 9 a.m., sliding on skis straight to the base. The direct start immediately meant getting to work clearing a lot of fresh snow. Higher up the tracks were mostly buried again until the next steep step where we climbed the edge in a direct line. We ended up doing way more pitches than planned and lost quite a bit of time but the climbing was just perfect for mixed terrain even if the fresh snow kept things interesting. Then came a long spooky traverse before reaching the ridge and climbing past the final serac. By the time we topped out the route it was already getting dark and we didn’t habe time to summit. We launched about 100 meters below in the very last light and flew straight back to the skis. Honestly it does not get much better than that. Danke @judithrubner für den Tag! #pizpalü #bumiller #climbandfly

After climbing the north faces of the Grandes Jorasses, les Droites and the Aiguille Verte it somehow felt like the Petit Dru had to be next. It is steeper, more compact and somehow more intimidating than the other big Northfaces around Chamonix. But you see it all the time. You cannot really ignore it. We chose the Leseur on the north face. Planned it three times and changed the plan three times. This time we knew the weather would get worse the next day and its again far from perfect. Still, we wanted to go up, at least have a look and try a few pitches. The retreat is supposed to be reasonable up to a certain point, so we went for it. The first pitches in bad conditions took way too much time. Nothing felt smooth. Then suddenly we found a flow and climbed quickly up past the Grey Corner. That was the point where we decided to rappel. It felt strange and exciting at the same time to treat such a big wall like you would treat a route on Tacul. Go in, see how it feels, turn around if it does not make sense. You cannot do that on many routes like this. The hardest part was probably flying in and out with stupidly heavy packs. We will come back. #petitdru

Les Droites - Lagarde Direct This one took some patience. One of the more emotional summits for me probably the one we turned around on the most in the past. Always somehow possible but never quite right. We waited for prime conditions. With the current cold and strong winds going for something less technical finally felt like the perfect fit so we gave it a try. Turns out absolutely spot on conditions. Getting a bit lost near the top and ending up climbing the direct line added some unexpected mixed pitches harder than anticipated but quite cool climbing. The descent took longer than planned but we still caught the very last Montenvers train. #lesdroites #lagardedirect
