Last night we had a lovely dinner guest , and I wanted to make a lovely dinner. So we did a roast salmon over a carrot butternut Squash puree with fried Brussels sprout leaves.I guess they're called roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts. I got the idea for the fried leaves from watching an episode of #Chopped. As you may recall I've been binge watching #Chopped on the Food Network and I think the people I #feed every night really benefit. I am not the kind of #home cook who makes a #weekly menu plan. I just can't do it. I basically open the fridge and just take a leap of faith. Last night I defrosted #homemade meat sauce and added cumin and chili powder. I stirred in rice and peas. All of that got wrapped in #tortillas and dresses with left over sauce and cheese and baked. Yum! It was so much fun to make. Can I go on to the next round? #homecooksrule #dinnerswithjudy
Saturday night I was really tired. I roasted some #chicken breasts and made a warm primavera pasta. I wasn't thinking clearly so I made way too much # pasta and the breasts were from extremely well endowed chickens. Which adds up to lots of #leftovers. I tend to watch #tv when I cook and recently I've been binging #Chopped on the #FoodNetwork. So, tonight we had #vegetable soup made with #homemade stock, #leftover chicken and frozen #Korean dumplings. I guess the #vegetables from the pasta and made #Bourekas. It was very satisfying. I felt as if host #TedAllen had given me a great basket. It was very satisfying for me to put together.
I was very proud of this meal. I cooked it while watching #Chopped my favorite show on #thefoodnetwork . I had a crazy day and wasn't in the mood to #cook. I put this lovely dish of Israeli #couscous with fried carrots, onions and broccoli and pan seared # shrimp. Usually I make couscous with my #homemade vegetable stock but I had some #beef stock left so I made the change. Since my first choice of dinner for last night would have been a container of yogurt I think I get to go on #to the next round

I have been eating #Heinz Vegetarian Baked Beans my entire life, and that's a really long time. Most of the people I know have been eating this bread as well. After weeks of looking for this in the supermarket, and being told it was a #"supply chain issue" I called #Heinz Customer Service. Guess what I was told? Heinz is no longer making this product. I feel betrayed. So much for loyalty to customers. So sad.#Cookouts #Barbques #Hot dogs #food traditions
