Der Klimawandel und seine Folgen für Natur, Kulturland und Gärten sind unübersehbar geworden.
Das öffentliche Experiment „Klimagarten2085“ ist seit drei Jahren im Stiftungsgarten zu Gast und wird in Kooperation mit dem Zurich-Basel Plant Science Center (Kompetenzzentrum für Pflanzenwissenschaften der Hochschule ETH Zürich und Universitäten Zürich und Basel) betrieben. In zwei Gewächshäusern werden zukünftige Klimaszenarien und ihre Auswirkung auf die Pflanzenwelt simuliert und begreifbar gemacht. Im Rahmen eines spannenden Vortrags erfahren wir, welche Pflanzengesellschaften und Kulturen zukunftsfähig und resilient gegen zu erwartende Wetterextreme sind. Auch die Wichtigkeit der Artenvielfalt, der Vernetzung von Grünflächen und die komplexen Zusammenhänge von Klima, Tieren, Pflanzen und Böden wird anschaulich vermittelt.
