↓ Read this if you’ve been pouring into everyone else while slowly losing yourself in the process. 🧡 People-pleasing usually doesn’t come from weakness. A lot of times, it comes from survival. Our nervous system becomes wired to keep the peace, make sure everyone is okay, avoid conflict, and carry the emotional weight around us. As women, wives, mothers, and caregivers… we naturally give. That’s our nature. That’s what we do. And there’s beauty in that. But somewhere along the way, many of us take it to the extent where we slowly start abandoning ourselves in the process. And over time, that catches up to us. Mentally. Emotionally. Physically. Spiritually. You may not notice it at first, but constantly putting yourself last to keep everyone else comfortable eventually costs you. That was one of the hardest lessons I had to learn. You can love deeply without losing yourself. You can care without carrying everyone. You can give without abandoning your own needs. Healing taught me that boundaries are not just about self-respect. Sometimes boundaries are the very thing that saves you from losing yourself completely. Because beauty means nothing if you lose yourself in the process. 🧡 Part of the reason I care so deeply about teaching Makeup 101 for everyday women is because I know what it feels like to lose yourself too. And sometimes beauty and makeup isn’t about vanity. Sometimes it becomes the tool that helps a woman reconnect back to herself again. To feel confident again. To feel alive again. To amplify the energy that was always inside of her. As women, we go through so many stages in life: Becoming a wife, motherhood, grief, loss, stress, burnout, aging, hormone changes, menopause, healing, reinventing ourselves, and learning who we are again through every season.
