Kicked off my 10th season of racing with @drivenasa this past weekend! Still remember comp school vividly, my M3 broke and a friend let me borrow his Spec E46 to finish the day. Taking the first green flag was exhilarating and terrifying. My racecraft was not great and the black (later purple) car took a beating during its 5 years as a full-on racecar.
Moving to a spec series in 2021 kept the fun and passion alive - spending last weekend competing in a field of 16 @spec3racing BMWs was such a blast. Looking forward to more fun and more tracks this season!
Very very early college days at @jamesmadisonuniversity , found on a CD-R of old photos. JMU would let you use one meal “punch” per semester at their fancy dining hall. Some of us in my dorm got dressed up for a birthday dinner and someone brought their digital camera (!) along for pictures. I probably had a flip phone in my pocket.

My first loan of 2026 arrived today and I said goodbye to two stragglers of 2025. It’s hard to believe that @outmotorsports is kicking off our 8th year of new car and truck reviews. We added motorcycles in 2025, thanks to @ty_longmire36 ’s dogged work with manufacturers that effectively got a press fleet set up to service the east coast more consistently.
I had two goals when I pitched my first few press loans - take great photos and cover cars in a way enthusiasts value. I focus on driving experience and its nuance, provide real-world towing reviews, and care about the details that matter. All these years later, I feel like I and we are still hitting those goals.
Because I’m a data nerd... we received 59 loans in 2025, 7 of which were exclusively to support our events. We put 17,000 miles on those loans, and the fleet averaged 424 HP and 4,720 lbs in curb weight. The photos here are some of my favorites from the year.
Aston Martin loaned us not one, but two Vantages. Bentley loaned us not one, but two Continental GTs. Maserati loaned us not one, but two MC20s. Plenty of more affordable fun cars were in the mix, too.
I share all this not to brag, but to drive home the point that communicating well, following through, and having a vision can go a long way. This all started with a WordPress site, a YouTube account, and a GoPro.
Thank you to everyone who’s taken a chance on me and us over the years. The little kid who grew up with a Car & Driver subscription and wrote fake reviews in WordPerfect would be so excited to know this is how it turns out.

Worked on myself (lift heavy things and go to therapy, they’re both worth doing), traveled a bunch, saw friends and family near and far, made and ate great food, drove a lot of cars, and threw far too many napkins every Monday night.

Two days of racing at Atlanta Motorsports Park and this little car gave us everything it had. Fourth place on Saturday with penalty laps and a second-place finish Sunday as the lowest-powered car in class.
Endurance racing is a team effort and our crew showed up at every turn.
