6 months of training. Early mornings. Discipline. Sacrifice. Just 3 months before the marathon, I tore my hamstring and it broke me. I was angry, questioning God, wondering why now?
But in my lowest moment, He reminded me - His plans are greater than mine. His will, not mine. He turned my pain into purpose, my weakness into strength. What felt impossible, God made possible.
26.2 miles, all by His grace. All Glory to God.
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26
First in my family from both sides to run a marathon. I want to set an example for my niece and nephew who I love with all of my heart that they CAN do hard things.
Even though I had huge races, Silvermoon 12hr & Lake Sonoma half, I still had time to squeeze in the local trail races! Did I feel pain at every run? Yes. Did my coach tell me to relax? Duh, but was determined to end April with a bang! Definitely couldn’t miss them! Thank you @sanjoaquinrunning for McKenzie and Paseo de Mariposa! 4 races back to back! Crossed my first creek at Paseo! PC to @heather_dawn3 🫶🏽 Volunteering to running!
The last picture I told @ploen_photo to make me look spotless instead of flawless.. I was midway dying so it didnt make sense. He didn’t fail me though 😂😂😂
Lake Sonoma Trail Sister Half! 🧡
The mud, rain, wind, I was nervous to take on this race with the weather conditions. Forgetting to pack proper gear for it, I ended up wearing a button up cardigan under my shirt and ran it. A week after completing my 12 hour ultra run, I felt all that pain from Silvermoon on the trail. Eventually I told myself, if I don’t make the cutoff I still came out and gave it what I could.
Yet deep down, I knew I was determined to finish. Pushing through the soreness and pain, I crossed that finish line baby! Back to back races! Shout out to my coach for the wonderful advice given to me which helped out so much.
13.1 miles with 2,470 Elve. gain! THANK YOU GOD. I’ll be back next year! Big shout out to @tierralibrerun for funding this race for me! 🙌🏽
Trail Sisters Half Marathon! 🧡
Ready to conquer Lake Sonoma tomorrow! Let’s Go! First trail half marathon!! Gotta represent the valley while I’m out here!
Silvermoon 12 hours, my first Ultra Race🦉 🌕
It’s taken me days to accept that I didn’t hit my 50K goal. I was so angry, upset, and disappointed in myself. I cried that night knowing my body had failed me & I only hit 29 miles.
But this is a learning experience… hours spent on my feet; running, walking, basically was up for 24 hours. It wasn’t going to be easy, and I KNEW that. Yet I went out there and did what I could. I want to thank @corre_cass for being my pacer. For being along those miles walking with me, giving me reminders and even just staying silent with me. I don’t know how I can ever thank you. Thank you to my best friend @naattaliieexx for coming out with me & being a cheerleader. My friend Pedro for helping me change my shoes and cheering me on even though I wasn’t in the mood. Everyone who spoke to me that night, thank you. Praise God. You know I had to do my favorite verse, Philippians 4:13 🤍
It was awesome to see people run through the night with their own goal in mind!!
Didn’t know what was a better view? Me or Nature.
After being down a week, & one of my lungs was giving out on me. Here I am. Made me appreciate the Lord for pulling me through and appreciate the life he’s given me. Realize how important it is to enjoy every day like it’s the last. 🫶🏽 Glory to him.
10K with beautiful views!
Drank soapy water halfway through 🤢
