Ever entered a room not knowing anyone and left with lots of new friends?!
That was me today, hosting Melli’s Long Lunch for the @suesofarnosfoundation .
I felt so welcome and embraced and although sadly I never got to meet Sue Sofarnos OAM, Lacrosse legend and all-round ripper human, it feels like that’s the exact kind of environment she created for others.
The 40-year anniversary of the Australian World Cup win was celebrated and the highlight was hearing from 1986 player and vice captain Colleen Hunter and her daughter Lauren who is in the squad for this year’s World Cup! Such a special, emotional chat.
Sport brings people together like nothing else, it’s a great connector - thank you for connecting this all together to begin with @carlyluke_ ! - and so was “Melli” 🩷
The Dip Issue 4 is here 🍃
Embodied. Being in the body. Our physical forms house a lifetime of wisdom: moments, memories and emotions - energy that can be stored before it’s released.
In these pages you’ll venture to Japan, where deep contrasts of rest and burnout live side by side; meet our second Resident Prune, Aisha, in her element of movement; and join our authors in their quests to care for the body, listen to it and keep coming back to what’s essential.
Fun fact: Aisha’s creative response was inspired by a journey out to nature following D’Angelo’s passing last year. It just so happens to be his birthday today in the US 🤎 and you can read her piece in the current issue.
The Dip is our free publication you can slip into your bag, take into the Bathhouse or read on your journey home. Keep an eye out for it around the city or collect a copy next time you visit for a soak.
Happy reading 🛁

I came to Bali to spend time with my best friend. I didn’t expect it to become a moment of slowing down, of softening, and truly feeling everything.
Bali has always felt familiar to me. As if my body recognises it before my mind does. My grandmother was born in Indonesia, and maybe that’s part of it. I always feel held here - by the warmth and kindness of the locals, the ocean, and the slower rhythm of life.
On my second morning, I found out my grandfather had passed. It was painful and not what I was expecting, yet there was a quiet calm peaceful feeling beneath it all. I was close to home, with my best friend, in a place I love, already on my way back home from New York. The timing felt right in a way that’s hard to explain.
The days that followed were simple. Letting this island do what it does best - hold, heal and soften. I feel him everywhere. In the quiet. In small moments. While sipping my coffee, or sitting on the mat. Not gone. Just closer in spirit.
Life is sacred. Love is eternal 🤍
