Day 6 of my experiment of attempting to make social media a little brighter experience.
I’m finding it’s really difficult for me to pick a person to brag on because I feel like ALL my friends are absolutely amazing successful people and I feel so incredibly grateful to be able to say this! I could do this every day forever it feels like! Lol
Today though, I just want to tell the world what an absolute wonder person Majda Phillips is!! She’s a boss! I think I first met her in 06-07 ish maybe? We were playing games at a mutual friends house and I kept saying her name wrong because I thought everyone around me was saying it wrong and I was tryin to be polite and say it right! I remember she let it slide the first few times then put the fear of god in me when I kept messing it up! Hahahaha
Majda has been solid as a rock here in Tulsa, and if you’ve ever spent any time hanging out here, you’ve most likely met her! She is an extremely dedicated and hard worker and manages the The Max Retropub downtown that is actually the ONLY 80s and 90s themed arcade bar! She DJs and is always the life of the party! Majda always has this way of just making people around her so happy, like it’s really hard to not smile when she’s around. She’s cherished and loved by so many friends and I just wanted to say how proud I am of this amazing woman!
I feel so lucky that I’ve been friends with you for almost two decades now! I love you!
If anyone is looking for a fun place to hang out at, go see Majda at the Max in downtown Tulsa!!
Ps… it’s been way too long since I’ve had a speed racer! Hahaha
Today, day 5, my experiment of uplifting people I know and love, I’d just like to give the highlight to a person I deeply admire and cherish.
Chris West is one of the best humans we have here in Tulsa. Arriving here with his family from New Orleans as hurricane Katrina was displacing so many people from Louisiana, Chris and Amanda (Chris’s wife who is also just as amazing) worked their asses off bringing us authentic New Orleans cuisine with their restaurant Lassalle's at The Pump. (At the pump came a little later) New Orleans food so authentic that if you closed your eyes while eating there, you could be magically teleported to the French quarter.
During Covid there were some struggles with the restaurant, but that didn’t stop them! They started growing their own produce, and began attending the farmers market, providing Tulsans with fresh produce and their own brand of hot sauce!
Chris is also a very talented musician and is currently the bass player for probably the best metal band in all of Oklahoma, Medicine Horse. Chris is such a kind and loving person. One of the most stand up people I know! There are so many things I could say here about Chris, and I’d still leave out so many other things that makes him such a blessing. Chris I’m so freaking proud of you for being the man you are! I look up to you in so many ways, and I’m so proud to call you my homie! Cheers to you!!
So with all the ugliness and uncertainty in the social media world, I’m continuing my experiment/quest in leaving a little positivity and picking out someone I know that I’m so very proud of.
Today Id like to just say how proud I am of my friends Rio Reinhardt and Leah Ayres Reinhardt!! They have been very close friends of mine for the past 12-15 years or so now. They are very hard working small buisness owners, and I’ve been so impressed with watching them grow not only their buisness but also their family, which I’m sure hasn’t been a cake walk with tryin to keep up with their twin boys! Lol
So today I just wanted to tell you guys how proud I am of you guys and that you’re doing such an amazing job raising those boys! I know they are gonna grow up to be very good men. I love you guys so much!!
Also ladies, summer time is gonna be here real soon, and if you’re interested in getting waxed, Rio and Leah are the owners of Rio Premier Waxing! They have almost 2 decades of experience and are the very best in town!
So lately there’s so much hurtful and depressing things I see when I open my social media. Kinda makes me want to completely get off of here but I also like to be able to network with people and have a way for clients to see my work and communicate with me or I would delete it all.
So instead of deleting my social media, I’d like to try an experiment.. for the next week or so, I would like to get on here and pick one person a day and just let them know how proud I am of them and maybe just encourage them or try to help promote their business. Sometimes it’s really nice to hear “hey I see you, and you’re doing an awesome job being a human in these times we are in right now”.
Today I’d like to start out with my friend Melissa Kohl. She’s a mother of three and a business owner. She’s been a Tulsa staple for the past 20 years! She recently opened up her own hair salon a year ago, and she’s doing awesome over there.
If you need your hair did, i highly recommend her! She owns Sister Golden Hair Salon and Experience in sand springs.
Melissa I’m so proud of you and I’m so happy I have been friends with you since way back in 05! Stay gold!!
Just wanted to make some loud noises and decided to capture some of the sounds that I made. Lol

I forgot to post this video here. I was showing @laveytattoo some tips and tricks on a watercolor style tattoo and what better way than to just jump in there with her and collaborate on a tattoo together!
It was a fun time! Maybe we will do it again soon.

My sister, my niece and nephew and his friend came out from Colorado Springs to visit me over the weekend! I was able to do some sea shells on the back of my sisters head. She loves the ocean so much, and she’s a badass because she didn’t flinch or said that it hurt not even once! It was an awesome few days and now it’s back to the grind!
Would anyone else want a tattoo on their head?
