Going through a lot of my old scans to find this one this one at a request last night, and remembered how much I love it. An older one for me, I made this one about 2021… very fun to have these plates coming up for me.

Had seen this house and decided to head back a couple days after to get the views. I have been loving how windy it’s been getting, to get this great mix of stillness and movement especially with these plates.
Was nice to get out and run the 4x5 back on the Premo No. 9 as well, been waiting a while to find it and it’s paying off.

Jook the dog, my childhood dog has passed away. I took so many photos of him throughout the years. There’s not a whole lot to say, except he was absolutely the best dog we could have ever dreamed of. These certainly aren’t the best, but just some of the images I made of him. I know there’s dozens upon dozens of negatives, plates and tintypes I never scanned in of him.
Quick project from today/yesterday…. Re-felting a folding top for a Crown No.4 Tripod. I have had this top sitting around for a while, and recently been in situations where it would have been handy, so figured it’s time to get it up and running. Couldn’t find and wasn’t particularly fond of the original brown, so got it nice and green. Last photo shows it with a Premo Stereo.

Quick touch up job on this Century Multiplying Back, circa 1910’s, for 8x10 studio cameras. This was for taking 1 to 24 images on one 5x7 plate or negative film. Wanted to go in and clean up the movement…. Decided while I was at it to touch up the whole deal. A nice waxing for the wood and removal of tarnished finish on the brass. Also repainted (except over the logo) on the back and masks for ideal light sealing. Works and looks like a charm now.

Ground glass day… but not making it. Something I’ve found on historical equipment that I love are hand drawn framing marks for all the formats you may be shooting on your camera using that particular plate size. Knowing what I want to use this 5x7 back with my studio cameras for, I’ve gone ahead and marked for split 5x7, CDVs, and Cabinet cards so when shooting, I don’t improperly fill the frame. Finishing up, is cleaning 100 years of grime off of the original ground glass for a 5x7 century multiplying back I plan to restore to look proper and function even more properly.

Several proof scans of stereoscopic negatives made in Ireland, going through and figuring out what ones are worth printing. I have been working on research to improve my mounts for images, and first things first is the stereo views (I like them the most). Hopefully soon I’ll get some test mounts constructed, but until then it’s time to actually work on printing some views so I have something to mount, all of which, for now at least, will be collodion chloride P.O.P.

I like to think of these two as a separated panorama.
