Today’s walking tour explored Jackie Robinson’s multifaceted and decades-long engagement with Harlem. Guided by a curator from the Jackie Robinson Museum, guests visited sites including Freedom National Bank, the Apollo, and the Harlem YMCA and re-discovered lesser known stories like that of the first Jackie Robinson Day and Robinson’s relationship with Harlem leaders like Adam Clayton Powell Jr. and Malcolm X.
