A final video to celebrate 2 months of the album’s release, “Back To The Lockdowns” is both a joke and a eulogy—an ode to having more time than ever for new perspectives on life, hobbies and finding oneself, even as the world filled up with more fears and uncertainty than ever before.

A new video today for my @morelikeshadows tune“Aviation For Non-Believers”, directed and edited by my creative brother and sweet friend Kevin Drew @kevinselection .
We’ve made a healthy library of work together over the past few years for both he (K.D.A.P) and @brokensocialscene , as well as a host of other bands and friends. I’m proud of all of it and grateful to have a pal with the creative insights he does to collaborate with, so having one of my own songs be the focus was a neat chance to flip the script, as well as a challenge to be put in front of the camera to sing one of the more emotionally vulnerable songs from the record.
It’s a song about trying, failing, flying, crashing, living, dying, and gaining the confidence to keep the hope alive for the next round of tomorrows.
This video also notably features the cinematography debut of my dear love Sarah Townson @townerson , thank you for keeping my angles correct at the beach and for loving this record as much as you do.

Today is @morelikeshadows release day for an album I made called “Vacation Mode” - it’s out now (listen links in the bio).
The video above is one I made for the first track, “Campaign Trail”.
I had wanted to make a really imperfect album really quickly without thinking about it too much, but soon discovered it’s hard to do that when you’re a) a perfectionist, b) working 9-5, and c) a perfectionist. Nevertheless, there still are a lot of first takes on here and rough ideas that ended up sounding better than anything I tried to do afterwards, so that’s neat. Thematically, it’s an album about the challenges of “shutting off” from all of the fun life traffic jams we’ve caught ourselves up in, and understanding the importance of centering the you that sits in between all of that nutty noise.
The main thing though is that it’s fun to make music, and even more fun to do it with pals.

As we reach the end of 2024, I felt it might be good to repost the new song & video, as I’m proud to have gotten back into making music again after what felt like a long, uninspired dry spell. It’s been re-energizing to create in this way again, and I’m really looking forward to putting out more of what I’ve been working on with some pals in the new year.
As a side note, it’s also #bandcampfriday - Bandcamp waives their revenue share for purchases made today, so if you’re looking to support any of your favourite artists and friends out there making music, today is the day to do it. I post occasionally about it, but it is incredibly challenging for many artists these days, from the current streaming climate of low pay and rising costs of basically everything on earth, to the ongoing complications and financial strain that playing shows and touring can create for artists looking to reach people. Every little bit helps - and I’m specifically speaking about my own friends and faves out there, so help them out if you can!
