👑🎶 A Royal Premiere 🎶👑 A huge joy to premiere my song HARMONY, inspired by the environmental philosophy of HM The King, ideas which underpin so much of the work of @kingsfdn . Performing at their annual Awards in the epic setting of St James’s Palace and in a room of such distinguished guests. Big thanks to the top group of young musicians who joined me: @londonyouthchoirs @matthewq96 @ninavcamilleri @corps_army_music . Extra memorable that my lovely parents could be there too (a special Birthday trip for Papa Pepper…). I hope my words and music did justice to an important subject. As the song chorus says: ‘we are beautiful / when we want to be / we are powerful / when we choose to be’. And what a sight from that stage - singing and looking out to see The King, Meryl Streep, David Beckham and others I have admired for such a long time. Heartfelt thanks for all the support shown. @jrapepper is one of those rare people who found his vocation very early in life. Some of his orchestral works were already being professionally performed while he was still a teenager - with one piece played by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House when he was just 16. Photographing him at home, it’s obvious how completely music fills his life. His piano dominates the living room of his first home, the shelves are packed with Mozart scores and music books, and on the walls are album covers including Frank Sinatra, hinting at his broad musical taste. Alongside composing, Jack has also become a broadcaster, writer and supporter of music education, creating the “Thank Your Music Teacher” campaign with Music for Youth. He helped design and launch Scala Radio - the UK’s third national classical music station - and now present weekend breakfast on its successor, Magic Radio’s Magic Classical. There are even photographs of Jack with King Charles III following performances connected to The King’s Foundation. It feels very much like this is only the beginning of what will be a fascinating career. As Sinatra said, the best is yet to come.
