“Falling Frozen Iguanas” is finished and is coming with me to Greenville, SC for @artisphere it’s about iguanas that freeze when temperatures dip in the south and the iguanas that are not native fall from trees and other perches. They do shake off and walk away when the temperatures warm unless someone brings it to fish and game. They are an invasive species and have voracious appetites. 2 more iguana layers! Woooo woooo! I think I’ll have it for @artisphere in Greenville SC coming up May 8-10! I love the blue frozen lizards falling out of the trees, or out of the egret rookery. Iguanas eat a lot of Florida bird eggs every year, so when the freeze and fall to the ground fish and wildlife try to gather them up. #greategret #woodcut #printmaking

Great Egret nest with falling frozen iguanas in the background. Iguanas are wreaking havoc on the Florida ecosystem, particularly with birds because the reptiles love eating bird eggs. So when they freeze and fall out of trees, some Florida wildlife may be saved. Now, they can just warm up and be on their merry iguana way, but, I think there is now a bounty for bringing them to local fish and game, is this true Floridians? #iguanas #greategret #woodcut #printmaking
