Happy new year to our JP community! We are eternally grateful for the beautiful artworks our community gets to create and share every year, and we are excited for what 2026 will have in store. Thank you to our artists, our sponsors and neighbors for making JP Open Studios the wonderful event it is every year, and let us have more art throughout our days!
It was a beautiful Day 1 of JPOS yesterday and it’s lookin’ bright and sunny for Day 2! Join us across Jamaica Plains as we celebrate our artists and community from 11-6 today.

Give greetings to ME, I’ve been here the whole time! It’s me @michellethrowsthings making all the posts for #JPOS2025 and thank you to every registered JPOS artist for sending in you beautiful art to highlight and for every sponsor for helping make JP Open Studios 2025 happen!
“Michelle has been slinging pots at @feetofclaypottery for a dozen years or so at this point and has been teaching the Monday night class (famously the best class in my clearly unbiased opinion) since we opened back up post-pandemic. Michelle has been bitten by the wood firing bug and will have new work from two really fun firings this summer as well as more of the typical cone 6 electric firings. JPOS is her favorite outdoor market and volunteering on the JP Arts Council board has been one of the more fulfilling side quests in life for awhile! (Please volunteer with us were fun I promise!). Shoutout to my social media team volunteers Christine deGennaro and Allida Warn for all their help this year!!”
It’s the day before #JPOS2025 and that means today’s Artist Highlight is dedicated to our volunteers! Christine deGennaro @cdg.pottery has worked tirelessly to put together many of the artist highlight graphics and sponsor posts, all while cranking out some awesome textures on her pottery! Catch her at @loringgreenough all weekend 11-6!
“I’m excited to be back for my second JPOS after having an amazing time last year! I make wheel thrown porcelain ceramics out of Mudflat Studios and JP Clay. I’m obsessed with texture and color and use my pots as a canvas for the collection of geometric designs and doodles that are always popping into my head. Come by Loring-Greenough to check them out and say hello!”
Thank you to another of our long-standing Supporter level Sponsors, @rockland_trust ! A reliable, full-service community bank, Rockland Trust is a bank you can trust! Thank you!
Say hello to our next #JPOS2025 Artist Highlight Alicia Fessenden @tricopot ! Alicia will have her wonderful wood fired ceramics at @firstbaptistjp in the side yard this year, so it’s well worth the deeper venture into First Baptist’s yard!
“I am a potter and teacher, and have been playing with clay since 2001. I started wood firing eight years ago and was hooked! I continue to wood fire whenever I can, as well as creating work in my electric kiln. I love organic, functional forms and try to think through every aspect of my work so that it is a pleasure to use. I am inspired by Korean and Japanese pottery, particularly Korean rice bowls and Japanese teaware.“
Are you ready??? JP Open Studios is upon us THIS WEEKEND! We’ve been highlighting our registered artists and superb sponsors for the last few months and we hope you’re as excited as we are! Has anything caught your eye? We have hundreds of artists showing their work at 66 different sites across Jamaica Plain, we are sure you will find beauty wherever you go!
THANK YOU to another Lead Sponsor for #JPOS2025 and anchor in our JP Community, @cityfeedandsupply ! Whether it’s a sip of coffee, a killer breakfast sandwich, or your weekly groceries, City Feed has you covered. Thank you for your support of the arts and our community!
