There's something magical that happens when the doors open for Øksnehallen and DGI Byen. 🌸 We're sure that both the buildings, the booths, our logo, the colour pink, WingGirl and BatteryBoy, yes, even the cherry blossoms do a big part of the job, but the finishing touch is of course all of you! 🩷 In these nice highlights with the photographers' great work, we see everything from the meeting between VIPs and the audience, dance groups and our selfie corner, Tabletop City, the judges and DCC, we even have room for D&D! 🥰

This weekend, @iberanimeoficial takes place in Santarém, Portugal, which of course means it's time for the first international qualification of 2026, @cosplayworldmasters ! 😍 Here, 13 countries compete, and the Danish representative is the amazing @crashshadowcos , who won the spot at this year's DCC with her Twisted Wonderland act. 🌸 We will be cheering loudly for her and we hope that you will send lots of luck and support towards her down south!

Experience the Studio Ghibli classic PRINCESS MONONOKE in IMAX for the first time ever in both Copenhagen and Aarhus, when Vue Fisketorvet and Vue Bruuns Galleri are showing the masterpiece with English subtitles from tomorrow, 14th May! 😍
The film is being relaunched in IMAX to celebrate the 40-year anniversary of Studio Ghibli – so maybe there will be more IMAX Ghibli screenings in the near future. 👀

While most of you may know what the iconic film is about, we will use any opportunity to introduce this masterpiece:
When PRINCESS MONONOKE premiered in 1997, it put both Studio Ghibli and director Hayao Miyazaki on the international film map. Set in the Muromachi period of Japanese history, the film follows Ashitaka, a young Emishi prince who journeys west to cure his cursed arm. On his journey, he becomes embroiled in the conflict between the forest of the gods and a nearby town, as well as the feud between Lady Eboshi, the town's leader, and San, a human girl raised by wolves. With its strong message about how the advance of humans is threatening the eco system of the Earth, the film is more relevant than ever. 🗡️🌱🐺

.: COSPLAY PARADE AND COMPETITION AT JAPAN-DENMARK FILM FESTIVAL :.
The 30th May, Japan-Denmark Film Festival takes place in Kolding and this year, they will have an extra focus on cosplay! Besides a cosplay parade through city in south Jutland, they are hosting a very special cosplay competition where there's room for lots of different participants and we think that's pretty cool. 🌸
The competition is a 'walk-on' format, where there's no prejudging. All you have to do is participate in the catwalk, because here, the focus is on cosplay as a form of expression, not solely as a form of craftmanship. You will be introduced while posing for the judges, who, based on that, choose three winners: Best Look-alike, Best WOW Effect, and Best Character Portrayal. ✨
There's focus on what you present on stage, but without having to bring an act and with no demand that your cosplay has to be home-made. So it's easy to participate and we hope you want to be a part of celebrating cosplay as the amazing form of expression that it is! 🤩
On top of that, there are three amazing judges which we think is an extra good reason to sign up: @asyllacosplay , @dkittycosplay , and @josefines_fine_cosplay ! 🩷
On stage, you will be introduced by the Japanese cosplayer Kaho Shibuya. 🇯🇵✨
So, if you cannot get enough cosplay and want to participate in a cozy event, where there's room for all kinds of different cosplay participants, we think you should take a look at Japan-Denmark Film Festival right around the corner! 🇯🇵🇩🇰

Der er mange, der har efterspurgt det, men alt det sidste har lige skulle falde på plads. Selvom det er kort varsel, er vi dog stadig glade for at kunne annoncere, at vi afholder årets kick-off på søndag den 10. maj. 🌸
Her kommer vi til at tale om planlægningen for det næste år, og hvis du er tidligere eller nuværende frivillig, eller hvis det er første gang, du kunne tænke dig at være med til at skabe den fedeste festival for japansk populærkultur, så er det en super idé at svinge forbi vores kick-off! 😍
Det er også til kick-off, at vores staffansøgning åbner, men bare rolig, vi skal nok også dele den online, når det er, men til kick-off har du også mulighed for at møde de forskellige hold. 🩷 De kommer ikke til at blive præsenteret, men mingling er lige så stor en del af dagen, så hvis du er nysgerrig på at høre mere om noget, er det oplagt at tage et smut forbi. ✨

On May 7 + May 9, @gloriabiograf is screening Mamoru Hosoda’s eye-popping science fiction SUMMER WARS from 2009 in a breathtaking 4K restauration. 😍
The film centers on Kenji, a shy, part-time moderator for OZ, the virtual reality world that powers everyday life, until pretty and popular Natsuki recruits him to be her fake boyfriend.
While posing as an affluent suitor to Natsuki's family, Kenji finds that a rogue A.I. programme has stolen his online identity, and Kenji is accused of hacking OZ and causing real-world catastrophes.
As the destruction in OZ throws Natsuki's family into disarray, Kenji must unite his newfound connections to overcome an impending cyber apocalypse.
