The hit new film “Ol’ Dirty Bastard: A Tale of Two Dirtys” is the first official feature documentary about the Grammy-nominated musician and legendary founding member of the iconic hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan.
Born Russell Jones in 1968 in Brooklyn, NY, ODB developed a unique persona and rhyme style that set him apart from his contemporaries. In his short 35 years of life and long after his passing, ODB has had a significant influence on a whole generation of fans and performers. We spoke to the masterminds behind the documentary, including Jason Pollard who co-produced, co-directed and co-edited the documentary alongside his father, acclaimed filmmaker Sam Pollard.
“We learned that the ODB offstage was completely different from the ODB that the public saw and loved. It was also interesting to learn how calculated ODB was in constructing his public image,” Jason Pollard said.

Despite bargaining throughout the weekend to reach a fair contract — and even giving the administration a three-hour extension — the NYU administration made an offer at 9:57. While these new proposals made some promising movement on some issues, they are not yet enough on core issues like compensation, especially decompression. They are also continuing to commit an unfair labor practice illegally refusing to bargain over housing benefits. We will continue to bargain through the day in the hopes of winning a strong and fair contract.
We are therefore on strike starting at 11:00 am today, Monday, March 23rd
Last weekend was at @theacademy for the Oscars for @theperfectneighborfilm . The film didn’t get the gold but had a great time at the ceremony and after parties. Definitely hope to go again.
When advocacy meets art, the impact hits deeper. This mission is bigger than the screen—thank you for being part of it.

FOR VENIDA, FOR KALIEF is a deeply emotional film that follows the legacy of Kalief Browder via the poetry of his mother, Venida. By taking us on a poetic journey between past, present, and future it exposes systemic injustice while centering a mother’s unwavering love, a family’s journey toward healing, and a community determined to see the notorious Rikers Island Jail in New York City close by August 2027.
