The Anthony Cover
Artwork submitted and will be live on The ‘Zon shortly. The Chance cover is being retired. I have several author copies that I will be signing for charity.
As a newb author, I unwittingly made a mistake on the original cover art. Since becoming aware of the community’s feelings around AI, I ceased using it in all art and promotions.
1. I disclosed it to Amazon initially and they published without question.
2. When people asked, I never once lied.
3. I reached out to several authors for recommendations on artists so I could give back.
4. I paid an illustrator for the SE cover and NSFW art. I was not planning to do illustration, but chose to do so to give back.
5. I have donated book boxes to charity and $1 from every preorder of Bone Deep to the ACLU.
6. I have tried to help other indie authors in any way I can because I want to give back to this community.
7. For several reasons behind the scenes, it’s taken me a hot minute to replace the original cover, and for that, I’m sorry.
Beyond all of this, I don’t know what else I can do. I spent a year of my life bleeding my past trauma onto pages. I made an error. I corrected it. If you choose to no longer support me, I respect that.
What I will say is the people I’ve heard are making noise never once reached out to me—one of them being an artist. If they would have talked to me, that person would have been the one I hired to do the illustrative work. I implore this community to start talking to each other directly instead of conversing about someone in private chats. The world is burning…we have bigger fish to fry.
This will be the only time I will address this. Those who know me know I’m a positive person and do not get caught up in drama. The biggest thing writing this story taught me is to not wallow for long in opinions.
