All Hell breaks loose as Tennessee lawmakers bust up Memphis. Frankie Mae Keeling-Henry, a former Tennessee State University student, educator, and one of the last surviving Freedom Riders connected to Nashville’s historic lunch-counter sit-ins, has died at 85. Keeling-Henry joined civil rights demonstrations alongside leaders such as Diane Nash and the late Congressman John Lewis. Beyond her role in the civil rights movement, she dedicated much of her life to education, teaching generations of students .
