With great satisfaction, ROOTED RITUALS: Reconnecting Body, Land, and Food Systems has come to the end of its inspiring journey. Through a series of events including co-creation sessions, food design and performative workshops, performances, and community meals, the project engaged a diverse public across Milan — bringing together people from many cultural backgrounds through shared rituals and collective experiences.
In this final online presentation, Yue Liu
@yl.seilune , food designer based in Milan and project leader of ROOTED RITUALS, will retrace the project’s journey — sharing insights, beautiful moments, challenges, and reflections. The session will conclude with an open Q&A with the audience.
🗣️ The event will be held in English.

ROOTED RITUALS: Reconnecting Body, Land, and Food Systems is a site-specific public art initiative developed by JOYY! Food Design
@joyy.foo in collaboration with Laboratorio Silenzio
@laboratoriosilenzio , Social Design Lab
@ivan5722100 , and APICAIA – Association for Italy-Asia Cultural and Artistic Exchange
@apicaia_associazione . The project was selected among the winners of the European call Feed Your Future – Engaging Youth for Creative Climate Action, promoted by Rede DLBC Lisboa
@rededlbclisboa and coordinated by the City of Milan
@comune_milano under the Creative Europe program. Taking place between September and October, in alignment with the autumn season and inspired by both natural cycles and the Mid-Autumn Festival, the project brings together participatory performances and food design workshops to explore contemporary issues related to food systems. Through embodied storytelling, collective rituals, co-design processes, and food literacy practices, it fosters a culture of care while reimagining the connections between body, land, and food.
