Ich erkenne Elay direkt an der Zimmer*innenhose. „Magst du eine Umarmung?“. Sehr gerne. Unser Ziel ist Elays aktuelle Baustelle. Auf dem Dach freundet Elay sich mit meiner Kamera an. Uns gefällt Elays sanfter Blick. „Das passt, weil ich versuche, aktiv mehr Sanftheit auf die Baustelle zu bringen. Durch meine Art der Kommunikation.“ Ich portraitiere FLINTA* (Frauen, lesbische, intergender, nicht-binäre, trans-, und agender) Personen, die einen handwerklichen Beruf ausüben. Im Handwerk in Deutschland sind Frauen stark unterrepräsentiert. Jeder vierte Betrieb ist unter weiblicher Führung und nur jede fünfte Meister*innenprüfung wird von einer Frau abgelegt. Über FLINTA*s sind keine offiziellen Statistiken zu finden. Was sind die Gesichter und Geschichten derer, die nicht zu der Gruppe der Cis-Männer gehören? Ich gehe in einen engen und persönlichen Kontakt zu den fotografierten Personen, spreche mit ihnen über ihre Erfahrungen. Von Diskriminierungen bis zu der Schönheit ihrer Berufe. Elays Geschichte ist nur eine von vielen. Keine davon steht repräsentativ für andere. Manche Erfahrungen gehen weit auseinander, andere decken sich. Wie ein Kaleidoskop.
