I had the joy of being part of the production army to put this Burb campaign together. I've never known a more hard working team making fashion cinema magic. Working with legends from the top to the bottom of the call sheet, lots of hustling, many days scouting, many taxis booked, many cherry pickers holding lights, many ice cream re sets and many iced coffees to power us through. Thank you as ever to the @holmesproduction crew for letting me join the gang x
Talking to a friend from a far away place recently I realised how many times I've tried to leave London behind, running from something or to something I'm not sure which. I've finally landed on that word I alway search for throughout all my learning and developing, grounded. It probably won't last long, nothing seems to in my ever changing mind but with a gorgeous little place to call my own and a network of incredible people around me, inspiring me to keep learning and changing I'll always feel at home.

A production army put this one together with @holmesproduction taking over the streets of Shoreditch on an insanely busy bank holiday weekend. The hustle was real.
It's been the absolute summer of a fucking lifetime surrounded by incredible, emotional, powerful, silly bitches. Each one has such an effect on my life and teaches me something I didn't think I needed to know. Too much happened, so much was dreamed up, I fell in love, I missed the friends who don't live here, I worked too hard, but made enough money to play harder, my best friends got married, we made the hen of the decade, I had a tooth taken out and I'm here now crying saying goodbye to Hackney Wick and my Spice Box family because honey boos, I just completed a purchase for a flat that I bought all by myself. Ciaoooo.
Throwing it back (because I'm so slow at posting work!) to this beautiful queer editorial I had the pleasure of producing with @faragoprojects for @them and Bella Ramsey.

Aries szn is over
it was a whirlwind.
Venus had her retrograding chokehold on me,
on my love for myself.
Asphyxiating but hopeful.
It all started stagnant
but she gave it up just in time
for the pink moon.
The Libra full moon.
I've been chewed up and spat out,
digested / re-birthed.
The other end of the cycle
and I'm:
a year older (don't ask an old gay his age tho),
a little bit busier
and deeply in love.
Aries szn initiates fire,
the aftermath isn't a comedown tho,
instead i'm gonna
take heed of what I see,
of what I have.
My daily experience of these
glorious surroundings.
Sabai sabai.
The perfect Thai saying to encapsulate
the beauty, wisdom and mindfulness
of the people I met and places I visited.
The monks of Wat Pa Tam Wua,
who offered me deep education of
Buddhist and mindfulness practices.
I learnt how to become an observer
rather than a thinker; to witness the
separation of self from physical body and mind.
I started to understand how to quiet
the monkey mind and find mental purity.
The community I joined at Lake Khao Sok
to learn the ancient sacred practice of Thai massage.
The incredible teachers who imparted
so much wisdom to us, and shared their deep knowledge.
I've never felt as embodied as during
these ten days,
learning about my body
and how to intuitively interact with other bodies
to heal them.
The local people @jackermanjoe and I met
while motorbiking deep into the rural mountains.
They invited us into their homes and showed
us the rich culture of Thai food, drinking and gambling;
the importance of family and community.
The hospitality and welcome they offered us
showed no bounds.
I've learnt so much about self kindness,
and community kindness and acts of kindness.
This really is the basis of Thai society,
and it's overwhelmingly beautiful to have
the privilege to experience and interact with this.
I've been taught how to live a life less stressful,
that relies on beautiful human interaction
with caring and generous offerings.

When the place you need to escape from,
becomes the place you need to escape to.
But it isn't a place, more a feeling,
a knowing, an unspoken understanding.
A summer experienced through instability,
uncertainty, regrowth and reimagining.
The vehicle of rooting kept a steady speed,
being fuelled by compassion rather than toxic petroleum.
But the direct line suffers a kink every so often,
a kink that hits harder than a leather whip,
more than you ever thought,
and all of a sudden the summer is a bleak winter.
But that unspoken understanding
that was the escape destination,
uses force to remind you
what is was you escaped here for.
And suddenly through the obscurity
you see a tiny seedling,
sprouting it's little head up into the world
promising signs of spring.
Spring as a sign of hope and of rebirth
and a segue back into summer,
the fading of darkness from all corners
until we start to feel some kind of sufficiency
once more.
