Now let me take y’all back. I was just a freshman
wide-eyed, uncertain, standing at the doorway of four years
with no map, no niche, no clear destination.
Then an email found me.
Quiet Storm. Collegiate 100.
An interest meeting. With no details, no guarantees
just a feeling.
Something whispered, take this step.
And that step became one of the greatest decisions
my younger self could’ve made. That yes turned into purpose.
That curiosity turned into leadership.
And somehow, I became the youngest president
in the organization’s history a freshman entrusted to lead,
to serve,
to stand at the front for two years. The lessons learned in that season
laid the groundwork for blessings still unfolding.
For that, I remain grateful deeply. To the Class of 12:
Man… words could never fully capture it.
You were the mentors a young Maxwell needed
before he even knew what to ask for.
Through you, I saw reflections of my future—
different paths, different stages,
all helping me map my own. Thank you for the wisdom you shared,
the trust you placed in me,
and the belief that leadership has no age
when intention is pure. In an organization rooted in mentoring,
you taught me accountability,
the meaning of brotherhood,
and how to truly be a man of my word. Lessons I still carry.
Values I still stand on.
Legacy I’ll always honor. Class 12 Supercell signing out…

To The Marching Maroon and White, Thank you for truly taking me in and being my first family on the hill. You’ve given me my hardest days and my best laughs. But 22’? It will always be my FS/FB on top>>>> iluvDaBand🩷 I was graced with the best staff/motivational speakers of the south, and for that, Dawg, I will forever be BET, I will never be slaw all because I indeed wanted it more than the next person and walked across that stage @aamuband To my Diva grandmother, there will never be enough words to express the gratitude I have for you. Thank you for shaping me into who I am, for pouring so much love, wisdom, kindness, and unwavering support into my life. Everything I do and am carries a piece of you with it, and I’ll forever be thankful for that. To my hearts? Headaches? …To my bad bunch, thank you for being such a beautiful blessing in my life. I can’t wait to watch each of you grow into everything you’re meant to be. No matter where life takes you now or then, near or far, know that I’ll always be there cheering you on, loving you, and supporting you every step of the way. I love you endlessly. 🩷 -Killa Khi 💂🏽‍♀️Alfred Adams Scholar 💂🏽‍♀️Rookie of the Year 22’ 💂🏽‍♀️Co Captain 23-24 💂🏽‍♀️Captain x2

Forever grateful for everything the Marching Maroon and White has given me over these past four years. Rehearsals, road trips, performances, and late nights turned into memories that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Every lesson learned in this band helped shape me into the man I am today. Even through every challenge, this organization always found a way to bring out the best in me. Words cannot fully describe how thankful I am to my band directors, Mr. Wright and Mr. Warren, for taking a chance on a boy from VA. All of the discipline, leadership, and pride you poured into me will carry far beyond the field. Years from now, I will still look back on this experience with gratitude and pride. Over the past four years, we performed in three corners of America and represented Alabama A&M everywhere we went. Family is truly the best word to describe what we built together through it all. Deep down, I know there is so much I could say about ’22 and everything we overcame together. Extremely proud does not even begin to describe how I feel about us and everything we built for this section. Standard after standard, we became the backbone of this section and built something that went beyond music because y’all truly became my brothers and sisters. The bond we built in this section is something that can’t be replaced or replicated. Really, when I think about ’23, I could not have imagined a better class to come behind us and continue building on what was laid in Spring ’23. Under your leadership now, this section is in great hands, so continue holding the standard high and pushing the section forward. Continue being exactly who y’all are, ’24 and ’25. Take pride in striving for greatness in everything that y’all do. In every situation, continue refusing to back down from anyone or anything. On top of that, keep bringing the energy that makes this section what it is. Now signing out - SK

Dear Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University, Four years ago I arrived on this campus with dreams, ambition, and uncertainty about what the future would hold. Today I leave with growth, wisdom, lifelong relationships, and a deeper understanding of who I am. This university challenged me to become better in every aspect of life. It pushed me beyond my comfort zone, taught me resilience during difficult moments, and allowed me to discover strengths within myself that I did not know existed. The lessons I learned here went far beyond the classroom. They came through leadership, long nights, hard work, experiences that shaped me, and friendships that turned into family. Alabama A&M became more than just a university to me. It became home. A place filled with traditions, opportunities, memories, and people that I will carry with me forever. Every step of this journey helped prepare me for the next chapter of my life, and for that I will always be grateful. Thank you for four unforgettable years. Long Live Thy Fame

My HBCU! My AAMU! Thank you for every opportunity, lesson, challenge, and moment of growth you have given me both inside and outside of the classroom. You helped shape me into the person I am today, and for that I will forever be grateful. Today, May 8th at 3:00 PM, I will proudly walk across the stage to receive my hard-earned Bachelor’s degree. To my family, thank you for the love, encouragement, and support that carried me through this journey. And most importantly, thank you to my mother for your unwavering support, sacrifices, prayers, and constant belief in me throughout these last four years. I could not have done this without you. - - - 👩🏽‍🎓B.S in Biology, Minor in Chemistry 👩🏽‍🎓Magna Cum Laude 👩🏽‍🎓3.65 GPA 👩🏽‍🎓4x Dean’s List 👩🏽‍🎓4X Honor Roll 👩🏽‍🎓USDA 1890 Scholar 👩🏽‍🎓YMCA Black Achievers Scholar 👩🏽‍🎓Journeys Altitude Scholar 👩🏽‍🎓AAMU Merit Scholar 👩🏽‍🎓 Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9 In just 24 hours, I’ll be an alumnus of Thee Fort Valley State University. This is such a surreal moment as a first-generation college student. Fort Valley wasn’t my first stop, but the redirection was for the betterment of myself. There were many major changes, a couple of failed classes, long nights, great memories, lifelong friendships, amazing opportunities, and now, 4 years later, the degree is finally coming. I just thank God. To my parents, thank you so much for everything. Thank you for always supporting me, always pushing me, and always believing in me. I love y’all so much. Now you can finally say you have a college graduate. I did this not only for myself, but for my siblings as well — to be a role model for y’all because I know y’all are always watching me. Thank you to all my friends, near and far. Y’all always believed in me, listened to me, held me accountable, showed up for me, and supported me through it all. That has always meant so much to me. I love y’all more than y’all know. All the friends I’ve met here at FVSU and also at TSU have become family, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. See you soon,

Can I get an Encore?! I’m so done with this B.S.✅ Dearest Alabama A&M University, Seven years, countless tears, and many victories, this journey has shaped me in ways I never imagined. I came in as a teenager, unsure of myself and quietly battling ADHD, which often made the academic road feel overwhelming. There were moments when I struggled deeply, even facing academic probation, questioning if I truly belonged. But through perseverance, support, and self-discovery, I turned those challenges into motivation, rising from that place to earn a spot on the honor roll 2X✅. Along the way, life tested me beyond the classroom. Grief entered my life and nearly brought my journey to a halt. There were days when doubt filled my mind, whispering that I couldn’t continue. Yet, somehow, I found the strength to keep going one step at a time (YES GOD✨). Through it all, I didn’t just grow academically, I grew personally and professionally. I became a proud, resilient woman. I stepped into leadership as a catering lead, building meaningful relationships with staff and faculty who became part of my support system and family. Those connections, lessons, and experiences will stay with me forever. (YAY ME🔥) Today, I stand not only as a graduate, but as a testament to perseverance, growth, and faith. This moment is one of the greatest achievements of my life, and I am forever grateful for everything this journey has taught me. Thank you for believing in me, even when I struggled to believe in myself. Your favorite Animal Biology Health Science Major is signing OUT!🐾🐅🦍🐃🐄🐗🐖🐼🦔

“When you find out who you are, you find out what you need.” - Mama Odie. The Princess and The Frog 🐸 - - - To my lifelong sisters, I love you more than words can explain. Thank you for embracing me, uplifting me, and showing me a kind of sisterhood that feels genuine, safe, and unconditional. Through every laugh, conversation, and moment of support, you’ve reminded me that I never have to walk alone, and that means more to me than you’ll ever know.🩷 ~08 Kount
