I know what it's like to experience chronic pain and fatigue year after year, insomnia, panic attacks, depression. I know what it's like to give up the things I love to do because it just hurts too much to keep going. I know what it's like to spend thousands of dollars and countless hours trying things and not get any better. To want to be strong and healthy so badly and yet have the hope of being so stay a dim and distant chance. And I know what it's like to finally overcome all that and be able to be and do everything I dreamed of at last. I'm so incredibly grateful today as I prepare to go into production on @gymratmovie again that I get to do what I do now and experience life this way. Someone asked me recently "are you still doing that health coaching thing?" And the answer is yes, no matter how busy I get in the film industry, I plan to always make time to help people find their way to health and wellness so they can live out their purpose and potential too. I don't have all the answers, not even close, but what and who I do know, I want to share with those of you who want to live better. To boldy go where you've never gone before. With 450 films in the festival and so many illustrious actors in the lineup giving tremendous performances I went to the ceremony not expecting to even be nominated much less preparing my thoughts for a speech. So when Adam Ottmar said my name for Best Actor I was astonished and choked up. After carrying this character on my soul for 6 years until we finished the final day of production, this was a Kairos moment (as my friend Gabriela @foreign.factor said) and a milestone of encouragement for me. What made this recognition extra meaningful was I've wrestled with discouragement that I had spread myself too thin to be able to do my best work, putting out so many fires as a producer. Thank you to the Beverly Hills Film Festival for including me in this truly special event and for recognizing the sacrifices and commitment to telling this story of @gymratmovie - Thanks to all my fellow filmmakers who attended the screening and gave heartfelt appreciation for our work, it means the world to me. A big thank you to my producing partner Kors @korstiaan1 for writing this role for me. He had a vision from the start of giving me a totally new challenge that required both physical and psychological transformation that would change the game. I think he accomplished that. Grateful to my wife Catherine for sharing most of this journey with me and the sometimes unreasonable levels of dedication it took. All the credit to God for the multiple miraculous answered prayers when it seemed all hope was lost. And finally a thank you to each and everyone of the hundreds of people that made it possible for this character to see the light of day.
