Been a little absent after vacation. Feeling drained from a recent cold but I am recovering and feeling like my creative self again. The words are flowing. Recent submission will come to fruition in the near future. I am in sight of the finish line of Please Don’t Rewind. Reading is keeping me calm. Upcoming projects are starting soon as well.
Big show in one month.
Back to the cave to type…
Horror and zombie author @josephpesaventowrites joins us this week to dig into what really drives great undead fiction; the freedom, the collapse of rules, and the uncomfortable truth that the living are often the bigger threat.
We talk about his writing journey from a childhood journal inspired by Nickelodeon’s Doug through film school screenplays to seven published books, and get into the practical, unfiltered reality of going indie.
Joseph also talks with us about his novel Death Cleanse, militarized zombie road-trip novel following the guy who started the outbreak, now stuck in a creepy Montauk bunker with real conspiracy theory roots. Check it out!

There weren’t enough photos, but this was certainly a show I’ll always remember. @bookcon blew my expectations out of the water. As one of the few horror authors, I had a blast meeting new readers and selling a massive amount of books all weekend. I was constantly signing and even had a line at one point! I’m not a big name, and I’m not someone who normally has a ton of attention, so each and every new person who gave my books a chance made me so happy I signed up to this show!
I met friends, met some in person finally, and got to spend the weekend with @hannahjoy_reads who was kind enough to hang with me all weekend while visiting NYC. I appreciate the booth help, Hannah!
I know there were some heated and rough points for several attendees this weekend, but I am fortunate to have a weekend of vending that truly was a milestone, a cherished memory, and a step forward in my writing career.
Thank you everyone. I am deeply moved.
Time to rest. Book 7 needs an ending.
Not writing as fast or reading as fast lately. Sometimes just sitting, admiring this collection of books, can ease my mind at night.
I’ll be turning more pages this weekend, thankfully.
I want to thank everyone for the support for my upcoming release, Please Don’t Rewind.
While you patiently wait, gaze into the nightmare that is the full artwork by @stefankoidl
He pulled this image straight from my brain and I couldn’t be happier to share the suffering I put upon these five people and how depraved the host is.

I approached Stefan with a clear vision and he blew it out of the water!
His artwork has always been an inspiration to me and I’m honored to get to work with him.
Scott will be doing the formatting and back cover in the near future so expect a full wrap reveal coming soon! Scott knows how to polish a book’s interior while also bringing the cover to life.
SYNOPSIS:
You are about to witness...a transformation!
Five terrified individuals are forced to participate in a social experiment by ExtinctShawn, a depraved individual who believes he can evolve to a higher power by watching a series of VHS tapes. Broadcasting to a live streaming audience heightens the stakes as he must screen all five tapes to complete his task.
Witness five stories twisted into one sick act by a crazed man, with a live audience watching the terror unfold:
Social media influencers all participate in a deadly reunion... Two friends find themselves in a dying mall that will never close... A traveling group in New Orleans encounter a dark entity... Videographers at a birthday party become hunted as food... A shy man meets an enthusiastic stranger that will change him inside and out...
Will ExtinctShawn complete his task of terror?
The latest collection from Joseph Pesavento brings a series of tales that beg you: Please don’t rewind!
Official release is TBD. For now, expect a chilling collection that’ll make you sick, disturbed, and rushing to keep your TV off!
Tell me in the comments… which story is exciting you the most?
Book Con is in 17 days and I’m nearly ready. Some added creativity mixing into the table. Bringing back something people used to like. Toying with the setup while letting the glow bleed in the darkness.
Excitement doesn’t even begin to describe it.
