José Cuartas presents a series that explores the idea of “home” as something deeply abstract. For him, home is not a physical place nor a point on a map—it is a feeling that emerged when he left his country for the first time. It’s an emotion woven from people, memories, places, and moments—a sensation that travels with him, ever changing yet constant, wherever he finds resonance. This series is an abstract attempt to capture the community that has made him feel at home regardless of distance, language, or geography—an invisible network that transforms any place into belonging.
His work will be on display at the collective exhibition (FROM FAR ARA AQUÍ) this November 13, 14, and 15 in Barcelona at Espacio 88 an exhibition that brings together people from here and from afar in one shared space, where for three days they present their visual and written fragments of what “home” means to them.
Not to ask whose space this is,
but how we can live together within it.
