The deadline for registering to vote in the General Election is today at 23:59GMT ! - Your vote is your voice, so register online and make yourself heard on the 12th of December. - If you’re not already registered the process is super easy and takes just five minutes to complete. - Gov.uk/register-to-vote

I recently had the pleasure of working on the brand for @slapandhope a northern adventure collective with a love of heights, adrenaline and the great outdoors. - Work was completed for the project on the road, with outcomes developed in the little windows of time I have off the bike. It's hard finding the balance but if the brief is good I can always be tempted! - (01/03)

Along The Way is a typographic project exploring letterforms discovered in the everyday environments encountered while travelling. The second country in the series is Italy, famous for its style, history and iconic food. - Inspiration for this outcome was taken from an old Italian newspaper called 'La Domenica del Corriere', a publication famous for its beautiful hand illustrated covers. The issues pictured were published just before the beginning of the Second World War and featured articles and imagery encouraging active service from all Italian citizens. - The design of the masthead and editorial layout is exquisite and it was a treat to see the original copies. Characters embellished with decorative swashes sit alongside serif letterforms that find their origins in the Latin alphabet. - Visually stylish and historically relevant it was a perfect choice for the reference specimen for Italy.

Montenegro roadsides were full of these beautiful hand painted advertisements for local businesses. - They are full of character, masterfully executed and often made it hard to focus on the road ahead.

After over 1500 miles of cycling I got to spend a week being weird and drinking too much with some very special people. - If you want to know the secret to successfully cycling huge distances on a bike it's not maintaining a high level of fitness, its smoking cigarettes four at a time. - ❤️ @goodgracie

Are Wind in the business of mobile phones or brown coughs? - Spotted this awful logo in a supermarket in Italy. It seems to balance an icon that looks like a minimalist arse over the brand name 'wind' a word often associated with flatulence. Not the best combination! - A fantastic example of poor brand design.

Great design is everywhere you look in Italy. - When I cycled over the boarder the first thing I noticed was the condensed font they use on the road signs. - The font used is called 'Alfabeto Stretto' and belongs to a typeface inspired by the British transport alphabet. - It looks great but from a distance readability isn't great. Functionality sacrificed for aesthetics in true Italian style!

Travelling from the United Kingdom to India by bicycle I became exposed to an ever-evolving typographic landscape. Cultural influences, language and geographical location directly inspire a variety letter shapes and styles, creating alphabets with a distinct impression of the origin country they were created in. - The focus of this project is to create unique typographic pieces inspired by letterforms discovered in the everyday environments encountered while travelling. With a unique cultural relevance found specimens will form the source of design investigation and exploration. Outcomes are drawn by hand, developed digitally and used as part of the identity created for the adventure. - Both myself and @pedalling.painter.pete will be partaking in the project, taking turns to create an outcome for each country we visit. - Specimen found on a sign in Mont Saint Michel: Normandy, France
