Hey everyone! it’s been a while since Their Prime debuted on sub pop. Today, I’m thrilled to announce my sophomore album, Away, is coming out January 23rd, 2026, on @youthriotrecords ! Away is a vulnerable exploration of mental health, musical struggles, and navigating my psyche. It’s a “slow-fashion” record, worked on in stages, like a painting. I’m incredibly grateful to share it with the world. The first single, “Ico,” is out today. It’s named after my friend Téa Mei’s cat and features Téa Mei, Justin Devries, with engineering by Mariessa McLeod, mixing by Jesse Gander, and mastering by Ryan Dahle. “Ico” chronicles a feline’s stress-free life, contrasting with Away’s darker themes. Cats and other pets were pandemic heroes, simple and grounded. A year and a half ago, I shot a video with dancer/choreographer Shion Skye Carter and camera operator Aya Garcia. Sarah Baxter made Shion’s costume. Shion’s dancing, Aya’s camera work and Sarah’s costume are beautiful. Tea also made the title sign. Please check out the video, link in bio.
