what a month. a last minute trip to socal led me to joining this performance intensive. i had the opportunity to push myself to grow further in a setting that was unfamiliar to me. i really wanted to see what i was capable of. From weekly flights back and forth to rehearsals in LA and SF, i’d like to think i got a glimpse of the growth im seeking if i continue to keep pushing; there is and always will be things to work on. also a well deserved mention to the incredible dancers i met throughout this month. they are so inspirational and have no shortage of talent. It was a pleasure and a privilege to be able to perform in this space and share the stage with amazing people. an experience i will surely hold close to heart. i learned a lot, and there’s a lot to process; im eager to share the things that i experienced during my time in LA and bring it back to SF and my community here.
i’m super thankful for the guidance and training @yourmomsfavoritedancer . the experience and training you provide is invaluable.
the last year and a half have been the busiest i’ve been with dance and the last two months being the craziest. i finally have time to rest next month and simmer down. now i that i have a chance to sit, im feeling so grateful for the opportunities that have been coming my way. grateful for the people i get to meet when i travel, and being able to create/share with friends and peers. crazy to think i gave all of this up years ago, and now im doing things i thought i wouldn’t be able to during my time as a dancer. really thankful for where im at and hope to do more in the future. always learning, student first and foremost.

Joon is a dancer trained under Westlake School of Performing Arts. With 10 years of experience, he’s also a teacher at City Dance in San Francisco. His choreography is always striving for movement that sparks self expression and entertainment.
