Last week I enjoyed my life in Stocholm participating Circus Expo -event. 10 perfomances, 6 preview shows, 10 pitching sessions with up coming shows and panel discussions + more than 100 personal meetings with circus friends. This week locaded in Kirkeness and Barents Speltakel festival. I'm happy to be part of Ààvu performance work group as we're (Silence Organisation) collaborator on it. Today -24C. Crispy artic weather -> to mention this is outdoors show ✌🏻 Show time tomorrow Friday at 19 and Saturday at 13 & 19.

Luonto kaaneimmillaan, valot puhdasta artsua ja rapsakkaa kelin puolesta. -34,5C jokivarressa kun hilpastiin suksilla Konstan, Jukan ja koirain kanssa Kontonulkille, autolta lähtiissä keppiimpi -26C. Ol haaska retki tähän 2025 loppumetreille.
Hieno viikko Inarissa takana upeiden ihmisten kanssa. Työskentelimme tammikuussa ensi-iltansa Skábmagovat -elokuvafestivaalilla saavan Áávu projektin parissa. Ulkoilmaan tulevan monitaiteisen esityksen ohjaa ja kuratoi Auri Ahola. Käykääpä seuraamassa projektia FB ja IG kanavilla.

Nils-Aslak Valkeapää – Ailu, Áillohaš. Osa 1. Kodasta maailmalle. Marjut Aikion useiden vuosien työn ensimmäisen osan julkistus tänään Rovaniemen kirjastossa. Varmasti mielipiteitä ja aikaisemmin kirjoitettua historiaa haastava teos asettuu yöpöydälleni odottamaan vuoroaan. Onnittelut Marjutille kirjan julkaisusta.

Tänään vieraaksemme saapui tsekkiläinen Martin. Martin on kulkenut potkupyörän kanssa viimeiset 15 vuotta eri puolella Eurooppaan ja nyt hän on saapunut Lappiin. Martin etsii majoitusta Rovaniemen pohjoispuolelta matkalla pohjoiseen seuraavan viikon aikana. I had the opportunity to attend the Barents Spektakel festival in Kirkenes, Norway, on behalf of Art Organisation Silence. This year, the multidisciplinary festival was held under the theme "Remote Control". I was invited to participate in a panel discussion on "The Remote Art Dilemma".
Over the course of four days, I had the chance to experience numerous outstanding concerts and performances filled with rich artistic content. In addition, several panel discussions fostered engaged cultural and political dialogue between events.
Warm thanks to the organisers, fellow participants, and especially the artists. Special thanks as well to Photo North – Northern Photographic Centre for the invitation and great company.
Barents Spektakel is one of the most significant platforms for arts and culture encounters in the European Arctic. It is essential that we have a northern community where we can share thoughts and ideas among cultural actors beyond the capital regions.

Last week, after a few gap years, I participated as arepresentative of the Silence Organisation in the largest and most significant gathering of circus professionals in Stockholm. The CircusMania festival and the CircusExpo showcase event, held side by side, brought together over 250 key figures from the circus world across the globe. Over four days, I had the chance to engage in conversations with around 100 of them. I saw nine performances, attended 16 pitch sessions for upcoming productions, and participated in various seminars.
Beyond the outstanding performances and artistic content, it was incredibly valuable to reconnect with friends and colleagues. A huge thank you to the organisers, Riksteatern & Subtopia, as well as all the enablers, including the Circus and Dance Info Finland!
