Here's a little background story time about this fun lil art journey I floated my way into — and one of my favorite full-circle moments:
My first ambient Tipper set back in 2016 was what really opened my eyes to self-reflection and created a whole new world for me to love and experience. Laying in my first cuddle puddle with strangers who welcomed me in with open arms that weekend, while melting away to the sound of
@tippermusic paired with the beautiful journey that
@johnathansinger curated, a seed was planted.
2021: I was looking for something to keep me busy with the current state of the world. That’s when
@daydreemerstudios recommended I check out Resolume to see if it was something I’d be interested in. After only a few days of mixing clips, I decided I wanted to learn how to make my own content, and that started a rabbit hole of new software, creativity, and hyper-fixations.
2025: After a year of learning TouchDesigner, I started making RayTK scenes. It just so happened that
@daydreemerstudios mentioned the Shpongle show he was playing and said he was looking for custom input videos for some ideas he had and was curious to see if I could help. After weeks of building 3D input videos and experimenting with settings, we ended up with some clips and the “Flower Shpongess.”
THIS WAS THE FULL CIRCLE MOMENT: Having something I helped create, and seeing one of my favorite visual artists mixing it live with the sounds of one of my favorite musicians, is a feeling I can’t begin to explain. Watching them create this magical moment for everyone in the crowd, and knowing my time and energy helped make it happen, lit a fire in me unlike anything I’ve ever felt.
There are several people who have really helped me tap into all of this over the years, but the person I owe the most credit to is Charlie (
@daydreemerstudios ). From studying visuals and explaining what was happening on the screen at Astral Valley, showing me Resolume and giving me my first VJ lesson, continuing to present new ideas and opportunities to push the craft further - this is all part of me now and something I can’t express enough gratitude for...
