It’s been 9 months since we left home and moved to Liverpool and we can honestly say it was the best decision of our lives.
The Guzzlers started back home just to make money playing pub gigs. Then in 2024, we got the chance to play on a cruise ship for the summer. Unreal experience but there was one problem.. as “entertainers” on the ship, we weren’t allowed to drink 😢
Everytime time the ship stopped in Cherbourg, France for a few hours before heading back to Dublin… we couldn’t resist. 9% French beers and plenty of them! We’d be legging it back to the ship, just about making it on time.
Safe to say… we got fired 🤣🤣
At the time, it felt like the worst thing that could have happened. No more summer gigs. No money. No plan.
But that last night on the ship, sitting in our bunks, we wrote a song about it all “20 Pints To Cherbourg.” All the lyrics tell the true story of the whole experience. We just done it for a laugh but the more we played it the more we knew we had something special.
We started writing more songs and long story short, packed our bags to Liverpool last summer, busked on the streets everyday to make a living until people started picking us up play in the local pubs.
From there we recorded an album of our drunken songs with
@jonwithnall (Coldplay, Rihanna, Echo and the bunnyman) in Liverpool and not long after got signed to
@campuslabelofficial .
Our dreams have come true. Living in the best city In the world with the best people. The support we have got from you all here, we are honestly so grateful for.
Nearly 4,000 streams in just over 3 weeks is mad. And the funny thing is, if we never got fired, we’d probably still be on that ship 😂
Sometimes the worst thing that happens to you ends up being the best thing that ever happens.
(or maybe it’s just the pints 😄)
