Hello! I'm delighted to share this video unveiling the UK cover of my new book THE CASTLE. I’ve been cloak and dagger about the story, because the twists and turns are really something, but the video includes some tiny slivers of audio from my reporting. Some pictures from London, where I was recording the audiobook for The Castle. I had a lovely time walking into @penguinukbooks every morning along the South Bank. Plus on a night off I went to a Sky Arts Salon at a former courthouse now distressed opulent restaurant in Clerkenwell, where I met no less than @the_s.l.p from @kasabianofficial , @alanmeasles , @ingrid_oliver and @larouxroux played. I'm delighted to let you know that my new book, THE CASTLE, is coming to the US on September 1 and is now available for preorder wherever you buy books. Through several unfolding stories, some of them quite hazardous and extraordinary, I piece together the reasons why I think many men have been unraveling in the 21st century. From the death of utopian factory towns to the false promises of YouTube influencer culture, these are stories about why some men are feeling tossed around in a sea of conflicting ideologies about what being a man actually *means* - and are, as a result, becoming detached from reality, behaving like separatists, creating a new era of disinhibition. It’s a book about how there are suddenly lots of things that men have been used to doing that they can’t do any more - and are, as a consequence, unraveling, creating fake realities, strange worlds for themselves inside their homes and castles… It’s my first book in eleven years (unless you count my podcasts) and it took three years to write. The US cover is beautiful. As is the UK one, which I will be unveiling as soon as I can… So cross the moat with me as I throw open the gates to THE CASTLE! Ok bye!

RIP @martinparrstudio I worked with him one time. I interviewed and he photographed Britain's busiest and least busy GP. I think he was brilliant and this is one of my favorites of his.
