I'll be forever grateful to Alex, Almog, Carmel, Eden and Ori for taking care of Hersh. Will we learn something - as individuals, as a nation, as a people, as citizens of the world - from their unity and courage and from the circumstances that led to their murders? Always heartwarming to see people visiting Hersh when we arrive. How amazing when they are Germans visiting from Bremen. And how wonderful when we learn that they met each other in the struggle to save Hersh and all the hostages so they now call Hersh their matchmaker. Thank you, Alex and Leonard!
תמיד מחמם את הלב לראות אנשים מבקרים את הירש כשאנחנו מגיעים. כמה מדהים כשהם גרמנים שמבקרים מברמן. וכמה נפלא כשאנחנו מגלים שהם פגשו זה את זו במאבק להציל את הירש וכל החטופים ולכן הם קוראים להירש השדכן שלהם. תודה, אלכס ולנארד!
With my dad's 8th yahrzeit this Shabbat, I have the rare (and unfortunate) experience of saying Kaddish simultaneously for a parent and a child. This photo of Hersh in his beloved Hapoel bucket hat has so much meaning this week. First, we hosted Hersh's dear friends Philine and Schnils and got to see Philine's new tattoo of that hat, next to her heart. Then today @hapoeljlmfc unveiled their official logo for their upcoming 100th season. Lots of love for Hersh's friends and team (who are also friends!).
התמונה האהובה הזאת של הירש מקבלת הרבה משמעות עבורי השבוע. החברים הקרובים מברמן ביקרו בארץ השבוע, וחברתו פלינה, הציגה קעקוע של הכובע של הירש שעשתה על הזרוע, קרוב לליבה. והיום הפועל י-ם הציגו את הלוגו החדש לרגל 100 שנים להפועל. הרבה אהבה לחבריו וקבוצתו של הירש (שהם גם חברים!)
