For the last 9 months we have been building a world class music recording studio on the ranch inspired by a request from @shaboozys visit last fall to one day write/record at the @hightailranch . The studio design was inspired by the famous Shangri La studio in Malibu (which Bob Dylan + the band opened 50 years ago), but with our personal touch. Before running final tests, I had to make a decision on who the first person to record in the studio would be. You only get one first. That person was my mom, a home piano teacher and player for more than half a century. I asked her to play only one song - she chose “My Heart at thy Sweet Voice.” It was the same song she played for her father over the phone as he was passing. I am so grateful to have such an incredible mother who inspired a childhood of music, bison and adventure. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers out there 🥂
There’s a lot to be thankful for this year… but one thing that made 2025 such a special year was definitely the company I was in.
I set out this year with the theme of “Feel Alive 2025”
And I’ve done some pretty wild adventures this year for sure! But what’s brought me the most life is the friends I’ve spent time with
And this Friendsgiving at @hightailranch was perfectly in line. @jonoutwest and @brittoutwest have been so deliberate about the people they bring together.
Everything just… feels like family within the halls of the ranch.
I’m grateful for a lot of things in my life, but friendships are what dreams are made of.
My close friendships have held me accountable, they’ve pushed my boundaries and tested my ambition, they’ve made me smile and laugh, and they’ve brought out compassion.
