Patches of heavy rain, 30mph gusts of wind and 850 runners, but that didn't stop the beautiful wedding of these two, they took it all in the stride and my god did it just create the most perfect day. Sophie & Dimitri - what a weekend. From their pre-wedding dinner to there beautiful beautiful wedding. Even on the hottest day, their love for one another shone brighter. Rob and Gary didn't just host a wedding; they threw the kind of marathon celebration people will be talking about for decades. PHOTOGRAPHER TIP Want to take your reception aesthetic from lovely to editorial? Let's talk about long tables! 1. The Banquet Effect I'll say it, long tables are a photographers dream. They create leading lines that physically point the camera (and your guests eyes) towards the top table. Plus, there's no "awkward back to the couple" seats. Everyone gets a front row view of the speeches without having to crane their necks. It's communal, it's chic, and it feels like a feast, not a conference. 2. The "Rule of Three" textures Flat tables look flat in photos/film. To get that high-end "Pinterest" depth, you need the trio! Fabric, Floral & Flame. A linen runner, organic florals and tapered candles at different heights. This creates levels, things to shoot through and "bokeh" (that gorgeous blurry background) that makes your dinner look like a scene from a movie. 3. Lighting If the venue lights are at 100%, the mood falls. My best advice? Kill the overheads and flood the middle of the room with candlelight or low hanging bulbs. Use window light and natural light (incredible for skin tones) and this will make the whole room feel like it's glowing from within. With all the rain we have had over the past weeks I thought it would be good to show you, you don't need to step outside to get epic wedding photos. Here's 10 images from Brogan & Dan's wedding at the gorgeous @holesfootcumbria when it was pouring it down and windy as hell outside, every single one was taken indoors and just look at the romance. If you are worried about the weather for your wedding day.....don't be. We've got ya back! Top 5 tips for a rainy wedding 1. Lean into the cozy - think roaring fires, candlelight and romantic indoor vibes 2. Chase the light - Grey, stormy skies create the most stunning soft and flattering light through the venue windows 3. Use the architecture - Grand staircases, moody hallways, or cool vintage furniture, use the venue's features as an epic backdrop 4. Embrace creative lighting - Darker days means we get to play with lights and flash. It's adds a dramatic look and creates a more editorial shot 5. Focus on connection - The best part of being indoors? No freezing temperatures,no wind swept hair. You can relax, cuddle up and just be present with each other. At the end of the day, you are marrying your best friend. A little wind and rain can't stop that shine! x

Juliette & Kaci did the best thing for their wedding day, they did what they wanted and my god it paid off. An intimate wedding with their family and friends at the beautiful @wildboarestate followed by a huge party @lancasterbrewery Everything about this wedding was perfection. So much love, laughter and not forgetting Cooper, the black lab who was just the best boy! I've said it before and I'll say it AGAIN.....Dogs at weddings are a must!
