Its face equality week this week and i want to start on a positive experience that I have.
I hope and pray that going forward that people living with visible differences can experience their own epic moments too when out and about doing things that they love.
From 11-15 May 2026 we will be shining a light on the experiences of the facial difference community in hospitality and retail settings; such as restaurants, cafes, bars and shops.

I visted 2 secondary schools in Guernsey to talk about life and the pressures put on us all to act, look and be a certain way.
Upon that visit I met a group of students who had created some incredible portraits of people living with visible differences.
For a moment we spoke about art and they shared how they created their masterpieces, but then one student shared that they understood how it feels to feel like that you don't belong, another student got upset as they felt it too, we shared stories way beyond art, we spoke about not knowing our birth parents, life living with additional needs and so much more.
I hope in this moment,that they felt seen and heard just as much as I did.
You all make the world a better place.
Be kikd to others and most importantly, be kind to yourself.

The biggest thing that I've ever done in my life was to begin to love what I saw in the mirror.
I fell in love with his blue eyes.
I then cracked a smile when I saw the shade of blue.
That smile created a dimple on the left, how cool is that i thought.
I then looked deeper and saw a kindness in him that heals.
I'm aware there's still a long way to go, infact that's true for us all.
The journey of self love goes on, for both you and I.
Be kind to yourself.
You're truly one of a kind
