Wednesday 25th 19:00-20:00 Synau Coll FFRWD rhif 1— The Lost Sounds of FFRWD number 1. This show features stray audio from the archives of ATOMVA, FFRWD’s studio. The first programme contains fragments gathered over several years, sounds curated using a variety of electronic devices creating power electronics and fractured tones. Sounds collected, misused, left to age, using synths that don’t really behave. It’s noise created with electricity and moments that might feel accidental but aren’t. FFRWD is Welsh avant-garde performer Glyn Roberts. Tenuous Presence of Tongue, 2025 During a @nuanced_presence livestream on 30th April, I haphazardly slapped my fake tongue, attached to the big-light lampshade via hook and line, with enough force that it stuck to the ceiling. It’s been there for seven months, and is still clinging on in Sisyphean absurdity. Where once a whole top-side of tongue was affixed to the artex above, now a single back-corner bears the weight of the whole. The slight tension of the fishing line-lampshade structure, once conceived as a device for holding it aloft, now teases it gently towards oblivion. The Second Law of Thermodynamics: Entropy, pulling everything into disorder. Soon it will detach, returning it as a ridiculous, dangling reminder of our predicament.
