There’s some wild MB stuff in front of the Petersen Museum right now — including the lobby. That Unimog is in fact a low floor elevating truck aka a Niederflurhubwagen!
Then there’s a sweet Unimog 1500, a Mercedes-McLaren, an OG AMG 6.0, and some prewar stuff with massive engines.
This is all in preparation for a 100 years of Mercedes-Benz exhibit. Remember, there were Benzes for 40 years before there was a Mercedes-Benz.

THE NOUN!!!
There’s a show going on at the Sonoma County Museum right now about the history of Sonoma County punk rock in the ‘80s and ‘90s. On the right is a flyer for my old band, Adjetive Noun! Yes, we played at Gilman Street. We were sorta the house band there for a moment. Yes, shows cost $3 back then (1995, 1996?), and yes, we left the C out of Adjective because C stands for corporate.
As much an art project as a band, The Noun had one 37-second Discharge style thrash song that we’d play 12 times a night. The idea was that since all punk songs sound alike anyhow, why waste time writing songs when you could be smashing the system?!? And since all punk bands are named Capitalist Casualties or Dead Kennedys (adjective noun), why waste time thinking of a name when you could be smashing the system?!?
A typical Noun song started with a rant, “This song is about the Amazon rainforest and how McDonald’s is trying to cut it down. What you don’t know is that those big trees create a canopy effect and block out the light for the plants below. The rainforest is nothing but fascist capitalism — the strong survive while the weak die. And McDonald’s is trying to change that and YOU get mad at them? Well fuck you, fuck the rainforest, cut that shit down, it takes away your rights — THE AMAZON RAINFOREST SUUUUCKS!!!” And then Crow (John Crowhurst) would give a Ramones “1, 2, 1, 2, 3, 4!” and away we’d go.
I’d just become friends with Steve Schultz, the singer and mastermind behind AN when I went to their first show. I was blown away. Afterwards I demanded he make me the bass player, arguing that if we’d been friends when he thought it up I would have been the bass player. He agreed and kicked Kerb 1 (the guy’s last name was Kerby) and I joined in time for the second show as Kerb 2. The rest is not only history, but literally in a museum.

Meet the Profanity Generator. If I were to type out what every single one of us said as we climbed out of the Flachbau Guntherwerks F-26, I’d be banned from Instagram. Coincidently, Flachbau sounds like a curse word.
Anyhow, PURE INSANITY!! Let me put it like this: the week I drove this Gunther I drove seven other 1,000+ hp cars (two Czinger’s, two ZR1Xs, two Sapphires, and a Rivian Quad). Compared to the F-26 they’re all dull. Not even joking, and I hit 210 mph in one (guess which).
Is the F-26 here usable on the road? Shockingly yes. I mean, you can’t jump in it and instantly go quick. But if you work at it and build up to it, my god is this thing excellent. Like, COMPLETELY MENTAL, but fully excellent.
As I said to @plmotorsport , “HOLY FUCK BALLS!”

Many thoughts. So many I made a video. However, I’ll point out that the yellow electric truck has 45,000 miles on it and is in desperate need of a wash. The silver electric truck has less than 400 miles on it. Unvarnished stainless was a wild choice.
Worth mentioning: first gen Riv R1T Quad makes 835 hp and 908 lb-ft of torque. Cyberbeastie here has three motors and makes 845 hp and 868 lb-ft of torque. The second gen R1T Tri-Motor (there was no first gen Tri) makes 850 hp (5 more) and 1100-ish lb-ft of torque. The second gen Quad makes 1,025 hp, 5 more than the recently discontinued Model S/X plaids.

That’s a Ford Mustang GTD from the rear view of the ZR1X I was driving. The GTD is so wonderfully fantastic I’m truly shocked. Like, WOW. Best Mustang ever, full stop. Feels like it’s worth $400,000. I’m flabbergasted. And in love. I’d written it off as a tarted up GT500. Man, I could not have been more wrong. Literally amazing. Bravo Ford. And Multimatic!
One more thing: note its GIRTH. Yet, it drives small. Amazing!
