We are officially one week away from Doomfest and have 2 very special announcements today! While we were bummed to see @direlands pull out earlier this week, we were prepared and are very excited to announce 2 NEW ADDITIONS TO GRAVITOYD DOOMFEST! BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: SUFFERING (Gravitoyd Battle of the Bands Winner) Suffering was born out of a project that started back in 2017. Hailing from the great state of Texas, the project morphed into what we now know as Suffering in 2024, when the band played its first two shows in the Lonestar state. They grind out their own unique flavor of Doom & Sludge that they like to call “Black Dirt Metal” and have 1 EP released in 2025 “The Great Heavy Depression”. The band battled for and won the opening Doomfest IV slot at the inaugural Gravitoyd Battle of the Bands in April 2026. BAND ANNOUNCEMENT: SAVIORSKIN SaviorSkin, a 2-time Doomfest Alumni, formed in 2018 and hailing from Houston TX, bring their version of industrialized Death-Doom with a dark gothic edge. The band takes influence from Post-Punk Goth, Death and Doom Metal of yore and blend it all with industrialized pulsing machine-like rhythms and catchy sensibilities that most underground metal fear to tread. Gravitoyd Doomfest comes to Houston, Saturday May 2nd for its 4th annual metal & heavy music extravaganza! 11 killer doom, stoner, sludge & metal bands on 2 stages rocking all night at 1810 Ojeman… plus the official midnight Afterparty with GRIM TROPHIES bringing the riffage and H-town’s own Knives in Water slinging the food! Mark your calendars now and buy your tickets here (link in comments). Tickets on sale now!!! Change is inevitable… those of us who try and resist find ourselves fighting a never-ending uphill battle. It’s funny, from the outside looking in I suppose my life has probably seemed pretty cool - releasing albums, getting to tour in a rock band, travel the country, meet cool people, etc… yet on the inside it’s been survival mode for the better part of the last decade. From death, to loss of a career job, to painful divorce I found myself broke and starting over in middle age with 3 kids to take care of. Being a single parent, keeping a house over our heads and pursuing my passion in music has not been easy. If you know me though, you know I’m always up for a good challenge... Never for a second did I let any of this BS have a win over me. I’ve been determined to trudge forward in the grind of music that I was put on this earth for and figure out what the next chapter of life looked like... So about a year ago I took a big step and signed up for real estate school. Now you laugh, but 180 hours of school ain’t no joke at least for this guy. I hate school lol. Never went to college, struggled through high school. The thought of going back at 45 was daunting to say the least, terrifying some days... I’m proud to say not only have I completed my 180 hours of school, yesterday I passed both the national and state exams to become licensed. Special thanks to my amazing kids and girlfriend who have kept me smiling and given me purpose through this whole process! Thank you to everyone that’s supported me musically for the same smiles and purpose as well! Shout out to Brandon & Mary Snyder for helping me get this thing kickstarted! So if you live in the Houston metro area and find yourselves in need of real estate services, keep an eye out for me very soon and give me a holler…. I’m currently in the process of getting onboarded with a real estate team and broker, and will have a followup post once all the ducks are in a row to become an active realtor with all my contact info. Looking forward to be of service in the very near future as the Rock n Roll Realtor of Houston!🤘🏻🤘🏻
