Learning to see during a street photography session with @claradanslarue during my last day in Paris. If you’re ever in Paris and want to experience Montmarte in a fun way, I highly recommend doing a session with her!
Proof of life: I’ve been stealth-building a startup for the past few months after work and on weekends. The past 4 days, I disappeared into a chateau in Normandy with 17 other community builders and entrepreneurs and gave myself permission to only think about my business, experience design, and how I want to design my own life. Feeling very motivated, inspired, and very privileged. I have a few more big steps to go, but I’ll be sharing this soon. In the meantime, if you have a dog, I’d love to chat with you.
Thank you, @hamdi_zein0 , for this lovely portrait of my dog, Dolly. Hamdi and his wife are Palestinian artists in Gaza trying to rebuild their lives after their home was completely destroyed by the occupation. Please contribute to their Gofundme for a portrait of your pet.
Let’s get cooking! Joni Chan invites participants to share in personal story making through food and collaborative cooking in this year’s New Frame experience “Roll With It”.
The Experience:
Roll with It is a collaborative cooking experience where you are a key ingredient. Using the backdrop of a sari-sari store kitchen, you and a group of strangers engage in a scavenger hunt and use cooking as a vessel for sharing personal stories - stories that are normally invisible in a service industry setting.
The Experience Designer:
Joni Chan is a writer and designer in Austin, Texas. A librarian by trade, she likes to find stories and meaning among chaos. Born in Manila, she has lived in over ten different cities before settling down in Austin. As an EDCP ‘24 graduate, she’s excited to continue exploring food narratives, environmental justice, and diaspora stories through experience design.

Are you greenwashing? If you use "eco," "sustainable," "green," "planet-friendly," or something to that effect, you could be greenwashing, and it might get you into trouble. Companies like Lipton, Amazon, H&M, and Apple all claim to be sustainable and they're the biggest greenwashing offenders.
Greenwashing can be unintentional, and that's one of the things I help small businesses avoid in my website clinic. For a free 30-minute strategy call, DM me at @thewriteux .
