The original Dante idea predates obsidian and was one of those ideas that took years to crack. We did a writing retreat before we went to record and that’s where this song really came together but before that I was struggling to see myself doing music much longer..so the fact that it revealed itself to me at that time felt serendipitous, and exactly what I needed to keep going. That’s what this song means to me, but I hope that people will be able to pull their own meanings from Dante.
