BERLIN WILL BE HOME TO A MEMORIAL ADRESSING DECOLONIZATION
The Decolonial Memorial EarthNest by The Lockward Collective is a memorial site dedicated to decolonization. The open bronze nest invites visitors to engage with decolonial resistance. It aims to heal the wounds inflicted by our colonial past. It was selected through a global, open, and anonymous art competition by an international jury. The memorial will be officially opened in front of Berlin Global Village on November 14, 2024. The art competition and the creation of the artwork are accompanied by an extensive educational program discussing decolonization and innovative public relations.
For the past 1.5 years I have had the honor of working as an assistant on this project of the wonderful Berlin Global Village, and now it will actually exist very soon!
