In August 2021, I sent @jonathanvanmeter a message with pictures of him at MTHS that I had found while prepping for my Gmom’s memorial. I mentioned that I knew about his top secret project and that c had gone to @marymountla Kim’s high school. In the meeting that came out of that, I explained that what @letseedubs said about women’s education was why I chose to go back to @brynmawrcollege , and I bet it’s why @kimkardashian created a matriarchy for herself to work within.
4 1/2 years, 4,000+ emails, 1,000+ hours of meetings, and over 2TB of data later… IT IS A WHOLE BOOK!!!!
Since then we have never stopped talking, and I am so proud to finally tell the world that I was the book’s researcher & project manager. Watching JVM take my research rabbit holes and turn them into his “brain candy” (as c calls it) has been the most amazing experience of my life. And the amount of history and sociological theory we packed into this biography is truly breathtaking. I still can’t believe this is real!
So as of today, after years of learning how to be excited in secret, I can finally talk about it… and you can go buy it!!! Much more to come, but so glad Citizen Kim is finally out of the bag because all four of our cats have been waiting years to get in 😂

I’ve been trying to decide whether to post this or not but fuck it: imagine stumbling on a book and realizing your name is on the cover. As it slowly dawns on you that, yes, something you wrote in 2015 had been collected into the best magazine writing of 2015. Indeed, what you wrote in an apparently prize winning way in 2015 helped vogue be declared the BEST MAGAZINE. And then realizing eleven years have passed without you knowing that you were a prize winning writer whose work was collected in a book with your name on the cover among some of your favorite writers? How did I not know? Who can I cancel? 😂 this is weird, right? 😐
