A friend asked about my 2026 plans, and I found myself thinking about how I haven't yet wrapped my head around all the amazing things that happened in 2025. To new friends, new experiences, and an ever expanding horizon, here’s a few moments that made life bloom.
Finally got to shoot the Milky Way again after a few years and I couldn’t have asked for better conditions. Smoke cleared out just in time for the core to move into position.
Only breaking the surface of my lava photos, such a challenging subject to shoot from a moving boat and the games are only just beginning, once you hit the computer the real challenge starts. Easily the hardest landscape I have tried to photograph. Such a beautiful place 🌊🌋
A night I'll never forget, the first time I saw the northern lights with my own eyes. The inverted colors of a mystical sunset dancing across the sky. Twinkling stars provide a backdrop to the ballet of light performing before you. -
Chasing the Northern lights is not something for the faint of heart, sleepless nights waiting for something that may not even appear, freezing temperatures, blistering winds, all things you must be willing to sacrifice to experience this natural phenomena. In order to live life to the fullest sometimes (or most of the time) life will truly begin at the edge of your comfort zone.
There were a few things growing up that always seemed to fascinate me and sort of became the top of my bucket list. I never thought that I would be able to check both of those boxes in one year, let alone within six months of each other. I was blessed to have witnessed the northern lights in Iceland last march and now I have finally seen the lava flowing into the ocean forming the earth and new land becoming the Big Island of Hawaii. 🌋
