This weekend, something a little different, a little softer, a little more intentional.
and I think that’s something we all could use. Just a moment to pause.
It’s an event called Soft Start: a New Moon Ritual and it’s being held at Body Language Movement behind All Good Things in East Austin.
There’s a bit at the end where we focus on our intentions while we pot a small houseplant and everyone takes the plants home from @sugarbabyplantco with them. Pretty frickin cute, right?
Sat May 16 8pm
Head to Body Language’s page for tickets, they’re tagged in the post.

How secure do you feel?
I had the honor of being able to have a conversation with hacker and cybersecurity expert @geminiimatt this week. I’ll be posting more of this incredibly informative and sometimes frightening conversation, as well as creating a home for the entire piece. If you have a story or info worth sharing, let’s connect!
Now’s a really good time to start locking down your security. What other tips are out there? I’m not the most tech-savvy so I’d love more in-depth advice.
In case you need a little tenderness in your feed. My oldest starts ballet tomorrow and we had to shop for supplies. In the past this would have been a Target run filled with guilt for convenience’s sake but no more. We went to the local dance store and not only did we have a lot more options, they were familiar with the school and what their uniform is. It took longer and cost more but we’re feeling much more confident in the purchase and what we’re supporting (and NOT supporting).
If you’re organizing in your communities let’s get the word out!
For Austin @allgoodthings.atx is the place tomorrow night.
For safety reasons, there are a lot of groups that choose to organize organically and keep a lower profile online. Talk to your communities and neighbors and find out where they are, or start your own. See you out there.
It’s been a decade and a half since I did and acting/modeling but yall got me inspired to start building my portfolio again. Thanks @brandonblurts for walking me through all the awkward faces and getting me comfortable with my smile.
