First visual for TRU FOLK, for quiet water, loud water. Directed by Alexander Girav & Jonathan Jayasinghe.
“quiet water, loud water captures a microcosm of LA’s unique intersection of the natural and built environment. The 5 freeway cuts through the edge of a once-bucolic public park in Boyle Heights, a manmade lake and palm fronds pressed against concrete infrastructure. Everyday life persists in the shadow of the monolithic form; people exercising, fishing, passing through. At a certain time of day, the morning light reflects off the water and casts scintillant patterns on the underside of the overpass. For a few brief minutes, every day, the monolith melts back into the beguiling light of the city.”
