Lamp in Camphor Wood
Made from a fallen camphor log. Slightly wobbly facets cut on the band saw. The wiring was a new challenge. Finished with linseed oil and wax.
I found a shopping cart in the trash. Using an angle grinder, I removed all but the chair part, and bent the sides for some comfy armrests. There's definitely some narrative in there about turning a discarded icon of consumption into a usable object for consumption but honestly it was just fun to cut up a shopping cart. Anyone with an angle grinder can make this, and anyone without an angle grinder can buy or borrow one.
