❗️NEWS ❗️
After 3 fantastic seasons together I’m thrilled to be extending my contract with @londonmozartplayers in a new role as Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor.
I’m proud to be part of an organisation that serves so many diverse communities in such a varied way. From our core classical programme at @smitf_london performing with wonderful soloists, to our collaborative community work including London Borough of Culture 2023 @culturecroydon , and not forgetting 100 Faces of Croydon with @kaupokikkas to celebrate LMP’s 75th Birthday - there have already been so many highlights.
As we launch our exciting 25/26 season today I’m grateful to all the players and management for their trust and commitment to our work going forward. A special shout out to @flynnleb and @haynes.sj for being amazing creative partners. And now I can’t wait for our Season Opening Concert ‘Mozart, Master of Drama’ with @danielledenieseofficial in September!

The music world is under pressure.
Funding is being cut. Orchestras are shrinking. And the people feeling it most acutely are the young musicians trying to find their place in it.
We sat down with world-renowned conductor Jonathan Bloxham, and what he said stayed with us.
His message was simple: when the institutions struggle, students need more support, not less. They need spaces outside the traditional setup where they can slow down, breathe, and remember what this is actually about.
Not careers. Not competition.
The language of music. The human condition. Communication.
That is exactly why Scandinavian Cello School exists.
We are not a conservatoire. We are not a concert hall. We are a place where young musicians can come and simply be musicians — where the question is never "how will you make a living?" but always "what do you have to say?"
In a climate like this one, that feels more important than ever.
A very warm welcome to Jonathan Bloxham, one of the most charismatic and appreciated conductors of his generation, from now on represented in Italy by TM.
Looking forward, dear Jonathan!
Sel reedel, 27. veebruaril kõlab Jonathan Bloxhami (@jonathanbloxham ) juhatusel Beethoveni „Eroica“, mis on üks kontserdipubliku ja dirigentide lemmikteoseid. BBC Music Magazine küsitluses 2016 valis 150 tunnustatud dirigenti just selle teose kõige olulisemaks sümfooniaks.
Lisaks tuleb Soo-Young Lee ja Nils Mönkemeyeri (@nils_moenkemeyer ) soleerimisel esitusele Max Bruchi ulatuslikem teos - kontsert klarnetile, vioolale ja orkestrile.
Soo-Young Lee on rahvusvahelise haardega klarnetist, kelle kunstiline tegevus ulatub üle Euroopa ja Aasia muusikamaastike. Ta on koos musitseerinud tuntud orkestritega, sh BBC National Orchestra Wales, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid jt.
Nils Mönkemeyer on üks maailma edukaim vioolakunstnik. Oma loomingulise tegevusega on ta tõstnud vioola nähtavust muusikamaastikul. Hetkel on tal käimas kolmeaastane residentuur Bremeni Filharmooniaühingu juures. Sealsete projektide hulka kuulub esinemine koos Signum kvartetiga ning kontserdid eelmisel aastal ERSO ees soleerinud pianist William Youniga (@william_youn ).

On Friday night, the fabulous Jess Gillam joined us to perform Anna Clyne’s ‘Glasslands’ concerto for saxophone and orchestra in the Ulster Hall. Jonathan Bloxham also conducted the Orchestra in performances of Britten’s ‘Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge’ and Shostakovich’s Ninth Symphony.
Drei große Künstler. Ein unvergessliches Konzert.
Dvořáks farbenreiche 8. Symphonie und zeitgenössische Musik von @konstantiagourzi verbinden sich zu einem Konzert zwischen Natur, Klang und Vision. 🌳
Gourzis Message between Trees und das Bratschenkonzert Ishaón – The Angel in the Golden Garden treffen auf eine der beliebtesten Symphonien der Romantik.
Mit @jonathanbloxham am Pult 🪄 und @nils_moenkemeyer an der Viola. 🎻
