Cosmo is ONE.
This year with him has been the fastest year of my life. This little boy started his life so peacefully and with so much peace and ease. Then he began to move, and while he’s still one of the most joyful babies I’ve known, he’s also nonstop. The year is a blur, and so is he. I’m forever thankful for the perfect piece of our family he is and that he joined us at just the right time.
I’ve rediscovered my love for reading.
I’ve always been a sucker for story, and I think I just forgot how special this medium is. Maybe I just believed I was too busy for something like reading. Maybe I didn’t think it was worth the effort. Whatever it was, I was wrong.
I can make time for it. And it is worth it. It keeps me creative, it inspires me, helps me sleep, and it’s an incredible way to relax without zapping my energy the way a digital screen does.
All that to say, if you don’t read, read.

On Tuesday, March 1st at 2:11pm, we welcomed this little wonder into our lives. We shared an undisturbed water birth together in our home.

Chester is 5! To celebrate, we wanted to make a video with him, and he wanted to use his favourite book. He narrated the story, he acted in it, and he even did the sound effects.

i can’t say I’ve done this sort of thing many times before. maybe ever. but here we are.
as some of you may know, my father-in-law has been re-diagnosed with prostate cancer. it’s something that shouldn’t still be happening in our world, but it is. and I want to see that changed.
