TRIPTYCON (2019-2021) at @stamsund_teaterfestival (2025)
Performing a collection of three solo works that highlights fascination with idealization: The works portray the desire and need to be something else – the urge to take or imitate the form of the unattainable.

Welcome to ‘Juvenilia Garden’ by Jonas Øren with costume design by Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen and music by Mats Høstaker (freij) on Friday 6 September approx. 17:30 ⚪️
The event is free but with limited capacity, so be there when doors open at 17:00 (also for a complimentary non-alcoholic drink) 💚
In the performance ‘Juvenilia Garden’, dance artist and choreographer Jonas Øren (b.1988) approaches the theme juvenescence — a state of being young — and its proliferation through art history and construction of beauty ideals. Employing movements and choreographic ideas from his body of work, he gets lost in his own oeuvre, which for over 17 years has continued to be described as “up and coming”.
In the process, Øren questions his own attraction and aversion to today’s mechanical development of talents, and the concept of the “prodigy”. The work is created through a continuous reinterpretation and reorganisation of fantasies and notions of artistic greatness, genius, and beauty.
Doors open at 17:00 for the opening of the new exhibition in The Pillars at the National Museum, and close at 19:00.
The performance is curated by yours truly with the support of The Pillars project manager Marthe Tveitan, curator ofeducation Karen Reini-Svensson, event technician Martin Dynna, event producer Yonas Changezi, and Live Roaldset and Sandra Dahl Hansen on communication ⚪️
